Furry, what a beautiful card, I bet you friend loved it, I know I do
Bunbun, good luck at the GP tomorrow, we'll be thinking of you x
Gemm, sorry realised I hadn't said before, the magazine is Cross Stitch Crazy x I sent several pics of my cards but I bet they only show one and cut my blurb down to practically nothing. Getting a freebie so really don't mind:wave: If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -
Rainmac Gorgeous card, cute image it reminds me of a St Trinians girl, must be the pigtails and the hat. I love how you have stitched the flourish, I don't think it needs a flower otherwise you would loose the effect of the stitching.:T
That means a lot coming from such a fabulous stitcher:wave: If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -
Gosh so much to catch up on, I've looked back 2 pages and can see some gorgeous cards, well done everyone.
I just want to say a massive thank you to Craftygranny your parcel was waiting for me when I go home from work I was so over-whelmed I had tears in my eyes, after being told in work that me and 4 others in my team are having a pay-cut due to the current climate that cheered me up no-end, I really am so grateful and want to thank you so so much, the card was gorgeous! I'll post some pics of my stash soon! Well I'll be at the elections from 6am to 10pm 2morrow! :-(!
Hels, so sorry to hear about work, that's carp x:wave: If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -

I popped into Hobbycraft while out this morning - they have a kit with the crop-a-dile reduced to £16.99. It comes with lots of eyelets in lots of colours, and several grommets. They're selling the crop-a-dile on its own for about £10 more! They also had the Whispers caddy (36 pens) reduced to £19.99.
Oohh, I may have to go and look... If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -
Oops, sorry rainmac - just realised I hadn't commented on your card.
It's lovely, and I agree with flourgirl - a flower would detract from the stitched flourish. How long does it take to p***k the holes and stitch? I hope whoever receives it apreciates the effort! BTW, I've just been to the PO
Furrypig - What a lovely reason to make a card. I'm sure it went down well, it's lovely, and great sentiments.some people grin and bear it, others smile and do it0 -
Shock horror I have done the card challenge from the sketch!!
I made a card for my friend who has an appeal hearing tomorrow morning as her son didn't get into any of the secondary schools they wanted. She has to do a talk to a panel of people and is really nervous. I decided to be slightly different and I turned the image on the side as I wanted the ribbon horizontal so I could hang the little charm.
The charm says 'dreams do come true' and inside it says 'I believe in you'.
Hope that is ok like Rainmac I left mine really simple and was also wondering if I should have added a flower but it is too late she has the card already!!
What a perfect card for the occasion.:T Don't forget the saying "Less is more" it's beautiful and very thoughtful of you.0 -
Fabulous cards, every single one of them. such a lot of inspiration in every one of them.
Need to get a move on and get the challenges going.
crafty granny, your card and atc arrived today, both gorgeous and have left a piccy on CP:whistle: Be the kind of woman that when your feet hit the ground each morning the devil says, "OH CARP, SHE'S UP"! :whistle:0 -
Thanks for the replies about the sewing machine, gather a lot of them are used as dust collectors!
Remember we were discussing the Fiskars shape cutters earlier, well I found 2 Fiskars websites - the UK and the US one.
This was on the UK one:
Why isn't my ShapeCutter cutting correctly?
There are a few of reasons a ShapeCutter might not be cutting correctly. You may need to adjust your blade - If your shapes are not getting cut out cleanly, you will need to adjust the blade down by turning it slightly clockwise. If your shapes are not getting cut out cleanly because the blade seems to be getting stuck too deep in the cutting mat, you will need to adjust the blade up by turning it slightly counter clockwise. If you are certain that your ShapeCutter is adjusted correctly and it still won't cut cleanly, try a new blade. Most issues with a ShapeCutter can be resolved by adjusting or replacing the blade.
There are also some quite interesting videos on both sites on how to use Fiskars tools. This is the one on the new ShapeCutter:

Guess I'll be giving mine another try!I don't want to make money, I just want to be wonderfulMarilyn Monroe0
