Wow what a tidy craft room you have saveapenny - all I have is a wicker basket full of stuff in the corner of our lounge. Great brag books too - i'm sure everyone will love them.

Melissa75, hope you feel better soon.

The wife, what a fabulous card - I have an auntie who is absolutely mad on spots so you have given me an idea of a card I could do for her birthday in October. Are the papers you have used downloadable or shop bought?

I've just got back from seeing some ex colleagues for a boozy lunch, and have volunteered to make one of the girls wedding cards! Trouble is I need a bit of advice 1) does anyone know who sell good quality DL Hammer Gatefold cards reasonably cheaply cream or white? Need about 30; 2) the style she wants is very simple, and I have done a mock up out of paper and some ribbon that I had, to show her what it may looklike. My problem is, that in order to get the ribbon on the front flat on either side of the bow and not twisted, I have had to put a twist in it on the back. My OH suggested not using one piece of ribbon and having 2 separate bits stuck on the inside of the gatefold card and covering it with the wording of the invite, which I could do but does anyone know how I get around this and am able to do with without the twist on the back and use one piece of ribbon? Hope this makes sense and someone can offer some advice.

Melissa - make sure you take it easy lady and get yourself to the GP quick smart so they can check you are ok (I think you can have anti-biotics whilst pregnant but only certain ones).

Thewife - love your shoe card, it's fabulous

Saveapenny - those brag books are beautiful, such a thoughtful thing to do!

MM - hope your DS feels much better soon.

I am part way though making a card, will post later - probably tomorrow. I've had a very complex wedding card order to make this week and it's still not blooming finished, must get on as I'll make £55 ;) Have made 2 quote books this week - one for a friend who's a teacher and another for a friend turning 30.

Weird but your card is very simliar to what I've been making this week!!! I have made flat single sheet invites that slot into a gatefold card (used as a wallet). I would recommend organza/sheer ribbon as it's easlier to manipulate than satin ribbon. You can use double sided tape on the back of the gatefold card to secure it and tie the bow at the front. Also you can make your own gatefold cards from A4 card if you have a guillotine/scorer thingy which would cut down on cost. Does that make sense? I make wedding cards for a lady that owns her own stationery business so this is what she's shown me to do. Hope that helps, good luck!

then on Saturday we're doing a craft fair so I'm going to take my greetings peel offs eg thank you , happy birthday , happy anniversary etc and then this will be an any occasion card I can put the greeting on that people require

Thanks for the advice Rainmac it is very helpful. I'm off to our local ribbon shop tomorrow to see what they have, as it is organza ribbon that she is after. I have got a scorer so if it comes to it can make my own, but will have to get the card from somewhere - maybe a trip to the Papermill. Can I be really cheeky and ask how much you charge for making the wedding cards - you don't have to answer. I'm curious really - I won't charge my friend for doing them as I want to get the experience and she will just pay for the materials I use.

Not cheeky at all! I make them for a lady who owns the business so she sort of sub-contracts work to me as and when. This particular invite is £2.95 for the invite and wallet tied with ribbon.
