I think it looks fab mumhug - do you think it looks bare, because you haven't got any embellishment on the bottom of each side. To me it looks really elegant, and when I get around to making one, hope mines comes out as well as yours.

Saveapenny's idea of adding a seed pack would be a lovely touch.

Mumhug - your book cards are lovely. I found it really hard to decorate mine, I just ended up sticking flowers on it, but I love your gardening embellishments. I really like that blue bird paper can you remember what range it is?? And your handbag card is gorgeous too -really pretty papers.
Rainmac - IN THE BIN - how dare she!!!!!
CT19720 - glad your childminders son liked his card - teenagers can be right picky creatures too!!
Orchid - yep its 4 inches and 13/16 ths of an inch square for the box. It was a bit awkward as my ruler had markings for 1/8 ths of an inch, so I had to use 4 inches and then 6 and 1/2 notches - does that make sense?? Yeah I did use basic grey papers. The resulting card is quite small - about the size of a beer mat.

I would love to get any of the cards I have seen on here you are a real talented group of people!!! I also wouldn't throw any of them in the bin!!

What happened to the idea of a card swop??? I would love it!! Shame for the poor person who got the one I made tho!!!
  • Another busy day and lots of gorgeous cards, you are so brave fore making a book card, i don't dare as i know I would run out of ideas halfway through decorating it!

Throw it in the bin??? how rude, I can't believe that someone would admit to being so thoughtless! I'd never imagine anyone throwing out the beautiful cards I see on here!

My housemate has asked me to make his girlfriend a pig card for her birthday, does anyone have any ideas? I prefer woodland animals like hedgehogs and rabbits personally so not sure how to make a pig cute???

    Hello All - I'm back!

I've come back with a horrible cold & OH has Laryngitis (spelling?) I've taken all day to read 2 weeks worth of posts - in between doing just some of the mountain of washing we came back with! There have been so many fantastic cards, hints tips & advice I couldn't possibly list by name or choose a favourite, suffice to say, they are all great! I can't wait to get started on the challenge......

Sorry - only virtual rock for you all - we got charged a fortune on the way back for overweight luggage - That was even after ditching all unused shampoos etc @the hotel & my friend even left her beach towel behind! We only bought a couple of necklaces & a bottle of perfume each & the men bought nothing so do be careful if you go abroad - they've really clamped down on it. I didn't think we had any more than we usually take.

Apart from that we had a great time - the weather wasn't fantastic it was warmer than here.
