How long before that had you made the third (i.e. qualifying) monthly credit of at least £1000 please? (i.e. how long was the wait after you had met the conditions for payment?)

    (Thanks)

That's the plan! (Don't know anyone who actually rates Abbey for their customer service or ease of payments or (in)ability to apply directly for an overdraft or restricted paying-in abilities - stuck in the BACS era?)

  • You have to have the account open for 12 months if you have the £100.

I re-read this entire thread and whilst we have been told a lot of the same things repeatedly (i.e. things confirmed by at least two people) about the conditions of this offer - that hasn't been mentioned once.

Obviously if Abbey pays the customer, the customer is free to close the account - and Abbey can fume over that as much as it likes - but the customer will have fulfilled all the known conditions upon them. The only way '12 months' could become a condition now is as a bar to future use of such offers - eg. not have held an Abbey account for 12 months prior to applying. (Perhaps that's what you meant?)
