oh jesus my mother has a 6kg turkey for four of us! i know they call me the bin daughter but even i won't finish all those leftovers! probably be cold turkey tomorrow, take some turkey to family meal/buffet on the 27th, turkey curry on the 28th. and after experiencing one of my sister's delicious poached eggs, think it'll be poached egg and turkey for breakfast everyday too :D

Slice it, cover with gravy and freeze. A turkey dinner later in January when you have forgotten what it tasted like.

Likewise, I'm doing just the same for easy sunday dinners.

My DDs have asked for Christmas dinner again tomorrow :D So thats what we will be doing with ours LOL I was hoping to make a curry with some of it but not sure there will be enough to make it worthwhile.

To be fair, there isn't a lot as it was just me and DDs so I just got a turkey breast roast but it will do us for 3 meals :)

Oh, quoted the wrong one, sorry! As you "do it" too, triker, do you mind my asking a) what you freeze it in and b) how do you reheat it? It sounds like a great plan for instant meals but I don't want to poison anyone!

Thanks muchly (and ex libris too!)

We had cold cuts tonight for supper and tomorrow it's turkey and home-made chips for dinner. It's the law in our house that we have to have turkey and chips on boxing day. :D

If there's any left over after that I'll do a Jamie's turkey and leek pie.

I've got a huge chicken breast left after today's meal (the pets had the legs and wings as a Xmas treat), eating out tomorrow but having rellies over again on Mon so will use it then to make Jambalaya, will chop up the leftover pigs in blankets and throw them in too with some pepperoni that needs using up, add a load of tinned toms, veggies and chilli and of course rice and voila - hopefully it'll be a hit and a nice change after all the traditional Festive fare. :T

We had a lovely turkey crown from Aldi (again) this year and tomorrow will eat the leftover meat along with the leftover gammon with bubble and squeak (leftover veg fried up). I am hoping that there may still be some left after tomorrow for either a pie or I will freeze it in the stock to make a curry/stew at a later date in the year.:D
