Anyone knows whether this can be used as an access point? (modem not needed) I already have a wifi network set up but want to add an access point upstairs in order to extend the network further. Will this model do the trick?0

It's a wireless ADSL modem, switch, router and access point all in one. If it wasn't a wireless access point too, you wouldn't be able to use wireless with it.0 -

Doubt VERY much if you can use it as a repeater - indeed think 99.999% that you can't. It's a GATEWAY to link your wireless & wired LAN together and via its modem to an ADSL enabled phoneline and not to receive/rebroadcast
What you appear to be looking for is a REPEATER. and not the MODEM, an Ethernet Switch, a Router, a Firewall, and WAP that is this unit.0 -

Doubleespresso. Yes it will.
It 'll work just like adding a hub to a wired network.0 -
