Linksys Wireless ASDL Modem Router and PCIMCA Card for notebook in store at PC World for only £39.99

I went to the Peterborough Branch today and they had loads.

The Model No Is WGKPC354G-UK.

Its on their flyer for £39.99 when I brought mine the till hadn't been updated and still came up with £79.99 but the price is £39.99. As usual in PC World you have to tell them their job.

Went into PC World just now to pick this up, Instore at £79.99 - only £39.99 if you have a flyer (Which is bright white, A2 size), I found one in the shop. The photo on the Flyer isn't the one for ADSL (Even though it says) so beware!

thats the one that i got.

They weren't doing well in our store, Huge queues & their PDQ System for taking Debit/Credit Cards crashed so were ringing up for manual authorisation each sale

sorry to sound dumb on this i have a acer laptop and i want a wireless network, how do these work, do i just plug the card in the laptop and the modem thingy in the router?

Fraid the PC World shops will be shut now AND the offer was meant to be a '2 day only' (ie 26th and 27th) so shouldn't be available tomorrow, but just in case.

The £39.99 half-price box actually includes two things : a wireless CARD to go in a PC CARD slot (eg in your Acer laptop) and a wireless gateway INCLUDING three major physical functionalities: (A) ADSL MODEM (B) 4 Ethernet ports for LAN Networking wired PCs/printers/etc (C) WIRELESS ACCESS POINT for wireless-LAN networking PCs.

So it would need to REPLACE your existing modem which would become redundant/spare.

And your Acer Laptop MAY already have wireless networking built into it (so the network PC Card would be spare). If not then it would need to have a PC Card (used to be PCMCIA) slot to put the wireless CARD in.

With Windows XP SP2 the actual networking isn't too hard to do.
