I'm 33 and OH is 41. We'd like to do it by my 40th or his 50th, but it's ambitious!0

DH and I are both 26. We started saving to paying off ours at the age of 23. We should be mortgage free before I am 28.
But we'll be buying somewhere bigger at some point, however we will have a 60% plus deposit by then meaning repayments on our next house will be really little anyway.
It's never too early to start overpaying. Our house wasn't particularly expensive (cost 100k) but we will have paid off the mortgage within 6 years of buying and we never though we'd do so well!0 -

I'm almost 38.
If I'd stayed in my previous 2 bed house I'd have been mortgage free for a few years now but I moved to a much nicer 3 bed semi.
Mortgage was £83K now it's £51K and I hope to be mortgage free in about 3 1/2 years on a £150K house.
I do hope to get a detached one and that may have to come first.

You are all doing really well .
I only started overpaying about 18 months ago .
I am 41 and would like to clear the remainder by the time I am 46 ...It does depend what the future throws at me.
