I was wondering the same. I'm 27 and my mortgage seems huge compared to most on here and the idea of paying it off sooner is really appealing but will, no doubt, be a long way off! However, we have decided to start overpayments in feb(after Christmas) Yay... I'm really excited!!!!!Matched Betting Profit- £815!:j0

Start now, even if its a fiver! You'll reap the benefits eventually, and overpaying generally gives you a buffer if you have a bad month further down the line. If you're 27 and have it paid by 40 you've done well...Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow0 -
Dh and I are on schedule to pay ours off within the next 17 months, so we'll be 39 when it's payed off0

47  .
Main mortgage WILL be paid off by 50 (even although I accidentally bought a car last week)
BTL's WILL be paid off by 55A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

I will be 49..39 now..we are of the opinion that we live now and not later,we have new car every 3-4 year and new caravan and trips to Paris as and when..we could stop all that and pay it off early, but i want to live now..both our healths could mean not too long a life!!! weigh up what is important before you decide to put it all into paying off earlyTO FINISH LAST, FIRST YOU HAVE TO FINISH....0
