Aww, Nilrem, don't go. I was feeling the same as you yesterday and, like Suesie, burst into tears when the money finally was released.
Don't feel left out, unfortunately there are still quite a few of you who haven't had the good news yet.
Those of us that have are just coming on here to try to make you other guys feel positive about the eventual outcome and I think I can say that we're all just as anxious to know that all our new mates in here are going to get their dosh.
I'll repeat that the support received in this marvellous thread has been second to none and much kudos to you for starting it. :T :T
What a lovely post! I'm off for a wee cry0 -

So we 3 are all now waiting for the money to arrive.(and the ISA certificates...that will be the really long wait)
Good luck to those still waiting!
Wouldn't overstress abt an over-long ISA certificate wait as once dosh received you can put it into an easy-access (careful!!) deposit account before tranferring into your holder of choice.
Martin's reported on those suitable for tranfer-in, so gives you a breathing space to check them out. :money:0 -

So do I now change my registered email address AGAIN to the new one?
Yes, I personally think you should change it to the new one. My theory is that for some reason they only took your email-from-new as the gospel truth but maybe there was a delay in them cross-referencing this with you icesave settings, by which time you'd reverted it to the old email address.0 -
It's getting very quiet in here now, I reckon most have got their cash and moved on!:o:cry:
Still here and offering some snug support - like a cricketer's box!0 -
When I didn't get the first email, I changed my email address on my Icesave account to a different one and then did the 'send blank email' trick for which I got a response. I then heard that maybe that wasn't a good idea and I managed to change the spam settings of my original email address and reset to Iceave email to that, the I managed to trigger another 'first email' which I received ok. I have now just received the following email from the FSCS:
This email has been sent to you because records available to us indicate that you are a customer of Icesave. If you are not, please contact us by email at enquiries@fscs.org.uk.
You recently obtained a copy of our first email by emailing us at Icesave@fscs.org.uk. It appears from our records that the email address you used did not match the one registered on your Icesave account. In order to help ensure you receive our second email inviting you to log on to the Icesave website, we are now asking you to please log in to your Icesave account and update your old email address with your new one. We will then be able to use this updated email address to contact you when we send out your second email.
If you experience any difficulties with the process, please seek assistance by calling Icesave’s Customer Services Helpline on 0845 605 6050.

FWIW I would stick with the email address currently registered on your ICESAVE account. You could always for good luck go through the original process for receiving the first email.
Can't hurt, may work!0 -
Thanks Nilrem for setting up this thread!
Am quite annoyed today. My account initialised yesterday despite not having received the 2nd email and I transferred my cash isa and our joint account funds out, my OH still hadn’t received his 2nd email for the cash isa account which I set up for him at the same time as mine and has now been sent the paper form to fill in - the letter stated that he had elected not to receive payment via the electronic process.
We emailed the FSCS last night to say that we did want to receive payment via the electronic process and they said that they had made an error and now they are saying that there is a problem with the linked account. It is the same linked account as our joint account and my isa and that worked fine for both transfers.
Why isn’t anything ever simple! Grrrrrrr I hate banking and bankers and money rant rant rant...

Just received the following from FSCS to my originally-registered talktalk address:

I've replied telling them it's now sorted via my re-registered hotmail address, but more to the point, it looks as though FSCS are "sweeping up" so hopefully should not be too much longer for those still waiting.
Good luck, especially to Nilrem who kicked this thread off. You deserve better mate and look fwd to your good news soon.
I've just received the same email (sent to my original email address) from FSCS despite the fact that I got the second email (sent to my new email address) on Sunday and the money arrived in my account this morning i.e. on the third banking day!!!
When I didn't get the 1st email I changed my email address on the Icesave account and tried that. Eventually I emailed enquiries@fscs.org.uk telling them of the change of email address. This or perhaps the letter my MP sent to the CEO of FSCS seems to have done the trick.
If you still have no joy do think of contacting your MP. It might just make the difference.
Wishing those still waiting a speedy responce. :hello:0 -
People, as of ten minutes ago the nightmare is finally over for me. The mail came at 2.41, I logged on, initiated, printed every single step as pdf-page (just to be sure...paranoia has set in by now).
I am still in shock, my hands a actually slightly shaking. I will never, ever invest money again in a bank/insurance etc. which does not fully subscribe to the FSA's compensation scheme.
Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for the support and the jokes that kept us all going. Though I am off abroad for the next four days I will be sticking around (will hopefully have internet access) to cheer on the remaining Icesave victims. Nilrem, my heart goes out to you in particular and I feel bad that so many of us have got their emails before you: if it hadn't been for you we wouldn't have had this brilliant thread. Really, really hope you are next in line!!
And finally: no, I still don't think FSCS did a good job. In fact, they have made a dog's breakfast out of what was already a bl**dy nightmare. Obfuscation (see their website announcements), contradictions (see Suesie's nightmare phonecall), and inefficiency (it shouldn't have taken this long) are really not to be applauded.
Now I keep my fingers crossed for the rest of us. Big hugs.0 -
I think this sums up what I and the others still waiting are feeling:

What's even more depressing is I'm old enough to remember when this record first came out
Don't be, great era! And one before unsustainable financial bubbles had been invented.0 -
