25th or 26th, the fact remains the same that with so many people getting their 2nd emails yesterday then it is highly likely that we will get ours today ... or tomorrow ... or the day after that ... :eek:In memory of Chris Hyde #8670

Clearly that date is rolled over during the business day rather than overnight. I'm now hitting a downer after my initial high. I even dug out the various fixed rate forms I have gathered together with my cheque book to start the process of reinvesting  . Now I just feel crap.
KenC ... I'm with you on this one. However, we need to try to keep positive. If no paper form has appeared in the post then the email will arrive. As the FSCS said, they are ahead of their original estimated date for allowing 'the vast majority' to claim, and we know that the minority are those without nominated accounts/messed up passwords/log-ins etc.
Keep positive!0 -

Tried to log in just to see if i still could but it just keeps saying my password is incorrect. Not sure if everything is going to go through all right - just be glad when the money is in my bank account then I can finally stop worrying!
In exactly the same position - someone onanother thread said the FSCS had said there were quite a lot of reports like that - and wait and see at least until tomorrow - where have we heard that before :rolleyes:0 -
Received first email, after calling FSCS asking why I had not. Then was "Locked out" of Icesave ISA accounts (together with my wife) contacted FSCS again who issued temporary new PW's. Logged into to accounts - changed PW's and then waited for second email.
Yesterday letter/s arrived containing claim forms - because I had "not elected to receive payment through the electronic payment process" Apparently, as far as I can glean from the recorded messages on the FSCS Customer services line, this is because I didn't (?) nominate a bank account when setting up the Icesave ISA.
Something of a surprise as the FSCS assured me during one of my earlier calls to them that when I logged on after receiving the second email I would then have the opportunity to nominate a receiving bank account.
Has anyone had similar experience?0 -
bbriggs (Good News Email from FSCS) has just posted to say that he received FSCS email about trying to log on even if no email and he did this morning and was successful. Still not happening for me.
Now worried. It's official!
Just thought ... he may have been able to do so yesterday but didn't for some reason. It's possible.0 -
After earlier positive feelings the gloom has spread over me again! Even Screwfix has only sent me one email this morning but I live in hope of getting further screwfdix emails later!:D unlike an FSCS one which doubt I will now never receive, I feel a long winded battle with them to get my savings back!:mad:0

Thanks, I know. It just gets harder and harder though. I am "not gaining" over £90 in interest per day (after allowing for tax), so as soon as it crosses another weekend that is £270 gone. I'm desperate to get some of the fixes still available as I do not have a job and the interest on this account was paying my bills.
Sorry, just feeling very frustrated, but still know deep down that I should not be as a loss of the capital would have been life changing for me.0 -

Unfortunately if you don't have a linked bank account set up at 7/10/2008 you cannot use the electronic process. This is covered in the FSCS FAQ question 2 at http://www.fscs.org.uk/faq/icesave_faqs/. They are not allowing people to nominate new accounts now for security reasons.
There is a separate thread on paper applications on MSE at http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1311581. There are 16,000 investors in this category (see the 16/11/08 FSCS press release at http://www.fscs.org.uk/industry/publications/press_releases
and the paper applications are being reported as being received by many in this category.MSE. Abandon hope all ye who enter here0
