I'm really pleased it's going to come sooner rather than late, I really thought it would be 6-12 months.
Mine was a series of unfortunate events but as we know that's life.
We were supposed to move beg of october so our savings would have been well out in september. However the house move is still moving slowly so I'm really hoping that the money comes through for us just in time for us to move.
In fact the slower it moves the more salary we get towards our deposit chipping off a little bit more of that mortgage.
Oh yeah - We have got a tracker woopeeee! should be valid till next april and as far as I can see there was no minimum clause so when we do move it should follow the bank of england rate
fingers crossed!!!!0 -
TBH I wish I had not started this thread now, I only did so for the number amongst us who are feeling depressed about not getting our 2nd emails, I thought it might give some solace to people to share their experiences with others with the same feelings, however it has been gate-crashed by a few people who seem to take great delight at knocking people when they are 'down' sometimes being quite abusive.
OK you have got your cash but can you not just understand one tiny bit at how others are feeling and please try to have a little compassion towards people here who have not?0 -
it's a stomach churning feeling0

Don't knock the FSCS though. They've taken what could and should have been a nightmare process and made it a simple one that's a lot shorter than the passport scheeme. Whether it takes 5 weeks or 8, it's a hell of a lot better than the alternative.
Yes, you're right. Point taken.0 -
Yes i do have knowledge, mine has gone through to my bank today, that's why i'm here to say that the process does work.
The last part is a bit silly, of course know one knows when the emails come, it seems to be random, but it obviously WILL happen. What eveidence have you got to suggest it won't? I've given you mine.
I think for some of us, we are a bit jumpy because we had to initiate our first email ourselves. By end of business last friday, a lot of us hadn't received the first email and then had to email FSCS. Some of us received an automated response immediately, but others had to jump through hoops with spam filters and ISP's.
I know a lot of people are a bit sceptical, that having had to innitiate that first contact themselves, they are not actually on the FSCS radar and maybe are more concerned about receiving the 2nd email.
It would have been good if the first email had given some indication of when the second email was going to arrive - ie. how hard would it have been for FSCS to have put a wee note at the bottom of the email to indicate that our claim would be processed by the end of week 1/2/3/4?0 -
nilrem there must be so many people out there like me who have been reading these boards for days following the comments. You have been the most consistent in trying to calm us when all around have had their 2nd email and I thank you for that.We all have been to hell and back wondering if we will ever see our savings again and you have helped to keep our hopes up.0

You are too kind, I am overwhelmed by your comment TBH, thank you so much.
I started this thread purely for people who had not received their emails to get together hoping that it might bring comfort to them knowing that they were not alone, I did not expect the amount of vitriol posted by a few people who had received their money, I am shocked at the unkindness shown by them TBH.0 -
