I have not received my second email yet. I am not stressing, I am not boozing and I am not whingeing. I am also not obsessively checking my mail bx. I have read the original announcement from the FSCS wherein they said that they expected "most" people would get paid out in November. If I get paid in November, I shall be happy, if I don't December is fine by me. I do not feel as some do that this is being allowed to drag out, Imho it is being handled expeditiously and professionally. I give credit to AD and the FSCS for their handling of this issue.
This thread for me has shown the good and the bad in a lot of contributor's character.0 -
I was overcome with emotion on the Wed morning when Alastair Darling said he would pay us back in full, in fact I had tears in my eyes!
Emotion, darling and tears in my eyes all in one sentence.
You've been reading too many Barbara Cartland novels.
Talking of romance the other half has just threatened to leave if I don't get off the laptop and stop checking the emails, as if I haven't had enough empty promises this week!
PS: Am I correct in thinking you got promoted today, 3 star and bar.
Bl**dy well done you deserve it.
(Sorry, just couldn't resist giving an example of a not over ambiguous profanity)

I think it's 750 posts. Well done! _party_“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0

My sentiments exactly. It reminds me of my favourite film "The good, the bad, the ugly"

All I need now is my 'prize' and I am sure you know what it is!0 -
You're completely correct, nilrem. The thing is, that one starts off being laid back and OK and then a few people come on being so smug, which brings out the worst (in me anyway).
I am sure we'll all be happy bunnies by this time next week (or so).0 -

......... I really don't want this to sound patronising, but what a sensible post this is. Every indicator so far points to showing that the improved FSCS deal is on track. Really folks, just consider what we (various stages of 'we') have now against the nightmare scenario of what could have been0 -
TBH I wish I had not started this thread now, I only did so for the number amongst us who are feeling depressed about not getting our 2nd emails, I thought it might give some solace to people to share their experiences with others with the same feelings, however it has been gate-crashed by a few people who seem to take great delight at knocking people when they are 'down' sometimes being quite abusive.
OK you have got your cash but can you not just understand one tiny bit at how others are feeling and please try to have a little compassion towards people here who have not?
.........nilrem, as the first poster on MSE to say "Yay, the FSCS process appears to be going exactly as they said it would", I wonder if you're mistaking my efforts to reassure us all and remind us of the ghastly alternative as being "Knocking people when they are down", and not showing "compassion toward people who have not"
I can't stress this enough.... every FACTUAL post on here indicates that the FSCS scheme is absolutely on plan, and that plan is infinitely better than the passport scheme alternative. Yes, I've had my money, but YES, you will too. That's the message.
Of course you want it now, but please do not be determined to see smugness where there is reassurance, and schadenfreude where there is relation of fact.
Trust me... we're all on the same side, no matter how fiercely you seem to want to disprove that.0
