Pots of gold help!

Last year I went to Morrisons and brought 6 small glasses for £2 and used those. Unfortunately I can't link to them but they had like a bubble effect on the outside and were only about 6cm tall, the top was wider than the bottom and it held enough for everyone to be really pleased plus it meant they all had an extra glass to use at home - we all need extra glasses!!!
ETA - just checked and it is 4 in a pack (the price was definitely cheap so maybe it was £1.50) - the box says they are mixers and contain 25cl. The bubble effect is on the inside and is squares.0 -
I used these - bargain!

Love all the pots of gold ideas. I'm inspired to make these this year and have been searching for suitable 'pots'. Today I came across mugs in gift boxes in the Origin*l Factor* Shop. They are gold mugs with Keep Calm and Go for Gold in the style of the well known sayings, they are quality made mugs and have the crown logo too. They were £2 each but I'm going to keep them for special pots. Bought 2 but thinking of going back for more as they are so nice.
They also have packs of mint chocolate after dinner sweets that are finger shaped and wrapped in nice matt gold paper, pack of 16 for £1.0 -
For those planning to make pots of gold this year, Morrison's have the McVitie's GOLD biscuit bars on special for £1 for a pack of 9. The best before date is May 2013.Smiles are as perfect a gift as hugs...

What a super thread, I found this last night and today have made 9!!
I have used christmas organza fabric, gold tissue paper, scratch card, gold butterscotch - 99p from homebargins, Cadbury wishes 50p HB's, Choc mint sticks 10 for 99p HB's, gold lindt bears 2 for 65p the range, gold coins 99p from range. I had a rummage in the loft - we have boxes and boxes of odd glasses that between me, my mother and grandmother we collected over the years... the ribbon came from my stash.
They have cost less than £3 each to make, I shall have to take some pics and work out how to post them.

I love this idea. I think im going to make them up as a little new years day present for oh, kids and other family members! we always get tons of choc etc xmas day, so i thought little pots of gold, or pots of luck, as i plan to re-name mine, would be a fun little way to celebrate the new year! It's not about getting what you want, It's about wanting what you get.0

Started collecting for these already. Never heard of them before taking a look on here the last few weeks so thank you all.
Got McVitie's Gold biscuits, 9 for £1 from Poundland.
Got a bag full of Elizabeth Shaw 70% extra Dark Chocolates for a £1 from local shop. These come in a gold and black shiny wrapper.
Got some gold bead stuff to put towards the bottom of the pots, £1 again from Poundland.
Got Gold tags for peoples names to go on, 50p for a bag of 10 from the Works.
For my best friend, got some New Look jewellery in the sale for £1...all gold coloured to put in hers.
Just got to find the pots now. Worcester isn't the greatest for bargain shopping ... no Wilkinsons, Home Bargains, Poundworld and the Poundland is very tiny and rubbish! So, a trip to Birmingham it looks like before Christmas.0 -
