    How many are you after?

To be fair, you don't have to have a gold container if it's proving hard... a plastic pint glass (20 or so for £1 from various poundshops, or £1.50 for 25 from Asda - http://groceries.asda.com/asda-estore/search/searchcontainer.jsp?trailSize=1&searchString=disposable+tableware&domainName=Products&headerVersion=v1&_requestid=25028

Bought £12 worth of scratchcards and I'm only doing 2 :rotfl: Got a little carried away but luckily it wasn't my money - I was given a tenner after helping someone out so it covered them with the £2 left at the bottom of my purse. Determined to make this a fab Christmas after such a !!!!!! year! Will be making them up later so will post pics if anyone is interested :)

What a fab idea for a Secret Santa gift! Have been trying to find something thats not tacky but original, thanks. Do you think I could make one for £5 or there abouts as this is the gift limit ? (and there is a forfeit if we go above that)!

i hope someone can help me with this
i am going to make my family pots of gold this year and i want to put a lottery ticket in each one and i cant remember, do they usually do a special lottery draw on xmas day? xmas eve falls on a sat so im guessing that they will just do that as the normal lottery draw and then the next one will be euromillions on 27th.
which lottery are people buying for their pots of gold ?
    thanks for your help :)

Yes, I asked in my local shop about a christmas day one and was told there isn't one so it will either be christmas eve ( but I don't fancy buying one for a draw that has already taken place) or the wednesday after christmas. So I have decided not to bother with a lottery ticket and just get scratchcards for mine.

    thanks :)
  • Adds to the excitement if the numbers of lotto ticket have already been drawn? Personaly though I would stick to a scratchcard.... and try hard not to be envious if they did hit the jackpot! ;)

I'm not exactly great at 'decorating' nor wrapping up - but then there's no real way you can do this without just 'chucking them in' :rotfl:

    th_IMAG0075.jpg - just the sweets
    th_IMAG0076.jpg - sweets and cards
    th_IMAG0078.jpg - in a hamper bag
th_IMAG0079.jpg - in hamper bag with the gold bow.

no poems yet :rotfl: There will be soon though hopefully :) I had to do them now though as I'm proving to have real perception issues and would still have thought I didn't have enough (!)

I have spent quite a bit on them because I'm only doing 2. They're for me and mum as we've had a really crappy year and it's a real treat. They have proven pretty expensive though, however I've been buying bits since October so I haven't noticed anything.

    In each:

    2.00 - cauldren
    50p - gold lametta
    62p - 2x choc eclairs
    £1 - 2x large cadbury wishes
    50p - 7 quality st
    £1 - 2x nets of choc coins
    £1 - 6 ferrero rocher
£2 - selection of gold covered sweets from local market
50p - gold toffees out of a selection bag of toffees from local shop
    50p - lindt teddy
50p - half a box of reduced small cadburys wishes
    £6 - scratchcards
    £1.88 - hamper bag wrap
    59p - large gold bow
    = £18.59

£37.18 for the two, don't follow my lead and get carried away!

Wow Gleek, they are very lovely and very HUGE. Lol. I'm sure your Mam will be thrilled with hers and I hope you both have lots of luck with the scratchcards.
