  • Well mine are all done and I am pleased with them although I do need to practise a bit more in the art of wrapping in the celophane but they do look very appealing even if I say so myself. Thankyou to everyone for your great ideas and photos, it is much appreciated. See you all next year.lol.

How did you all do? :)

Won a tenner on Christmas Eve on one, read it properly today and realised it was actually £20 because I had a cash symbol too :D Mum one a £1 on hers in her cracker so £21 back from about £14 outlay - not bad :)

9 scratchcards bought - only winner was a £2 one, so definitely not a profitable exercise!!
  • Pleased to hear there were some winners. I gave out six £2 ones and no winners but everyone enjoyed scratching them which was good.

  • I did 10 pots with 2 £1 scratchcards each, off of £20 we have so far had £26 in winnings and I don't know about 4 of them, pretty pleased with that!

I had 16 £1 ones, and they won 2 * £5, 2 * £2 and £1 so not bad. They were a big hit though, as DH's family had never seen pots of gold before.
  • I bought 6 £1 ones and I won £2.00

I was wondering if anyone has seen anything suitable to make pots of gold in this year?
Last year I brought the black couldron type things from wilkies reduced after Halloween and sprayed them but they were too big really and Id like something glass maybe, im not sure but something that doesn't need to be sprayed.
Any ideas or seen any anywhere?

I used small glass dessert bowls from Wilkos. I think they were £3 for a pack of 6. I found them just the right size and my sister-in-law was very pleased as she and my brother had got a pot of gold each the previous year and she said that this coming year she would have a complete set of 6! I just hope they still do them in Wilkos this year! :rotfl:

    Cheaper than I thought! :money:

Oo i just love these pots of gold. OH is 50 this year and just starting a hamper (budget set at £50). Also going to friends' setting up home together so think i'll do them one too :D she was telling me the other day the only scratch card she'd bought she won £50 and was persuaded to buy 50 more cos her luck was obviously in. She won... Nada :rotfl:
