  • Do scratchcards have an expiry date on them? The pot of gold ones sound brilliant but I wouldn't want people to win something at Christmas and not be able to claim the prize because the date has ran out. Not a chance of Wispa Golds lasting more than 5 minutes in our house!

I think the prizes have to be claimed within 6 months? I could be wrong though? I bought in september last year and got 1 or 2 a week for the ones I needed, my sister and her OH also had cash in theirs but in their currency (Bulgarian Lev) both sister and hubby won prizes, they cashed them in March when then came back to the UK without any problems.

  • [QUOTE my brainwave was..............................................the .......wispa GOLD!!!:j:j:j:j, problem being, to buy them and not eat them but if you have the willpower i think they would look amazing in the middle with the new shiny gold wrapper they do now:D[/QUOTE]

I think i'll make myself P.O.G and fill it with the wispa. I had to confirm with OH they were really back or if I had imagined it. But yes :D:D:D they are back :T

Sadly I only have one to do...was good fun making it though and have to buy a nice bow/ribbon and make a label/tag!

    Worked out price for it:

Quality st out of tin - 75p worth
    Gold coins B&M's - 49p
    Coffee jar - free!

    so all in: £1.24

  • I found this thread too late last year and I'd already bought presents for everyone, boo! But I'm more prepared this year!

I'm not going to stick to gold, I've decided to go multicoloured just because I expect it will be easier for my first attempt. I've already bought 7 x 40p mugs from Wilkos and some multicoloured tissue paper to line them with. Fillings will include quality streets and chocolate coins and hopefully a candy cane each if I remember to buy them when shops start selling them! I'll be making these for 4 colleagues, the OHs of two of my friends, and my OH's best friend.

  • I bought a real gold covered penny for part of my boyfriend's advent calendar this year, but since I decided to change to making him a stocking instead I'm going to put it on the top of the pot of gold which will be put in there.

I got them from here http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/WE-GIVE-YOU-A-PENNY-FOR-YOUR-THOUGHTS-COVERED-IN-GOLD_W0QQitemZ300271933883QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_B_I_Business_for_Sale_CV?hash=item45e99a19bb&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

and was pleased with the service, they said they'd ran out of pennies so they sent me a 2p instead, looks nice and shiny :rotfl: Might be of some use to people?
