Totally inspired to do these as a surprise mini gift for christmas day for my mum, dad, grandma, OH and of course me!! Have ordered 5 gold plated coins from ebay as suggested my Claire Bear above as a 'keepable' little part of the gift. Would like to get the yellow pots from Ikea too.. does anyone know if they are the sort of size you could put a gold coloured tea light in so they could be re-used as a candle holder too? (+ candle would bulk up the bottom!)
Hi
I think that was maybe their original intention. A tealight candle sits in nicely

They would also be good for those doing multicoloured pots!
Rusty, Ikea have these pots in clear too, pack of 4 for 89p at the mo in the sale
Well they're the tealight candle holders but the same size as the yellow ones0 -

They are actually breakfast bowls, allbeit small ones. They are found in the plates/bowl/cutlery section in ikea! It even says in the description that they are bowls!
Tealights would work in the bottom but they are a bit big for that really.
BB I know they also do the pots in clear, I wasn't talking about the ones from ikea!! I was talking about some clear glasses I managed to pick up from sainsburys! I actually found the gold ones last year and posted on here so anyone who wanted them could use them. They did clear ones then aswell and their original price was 99p last year! the price hasn't changed and is showing that price on their website. Guess they are scanning cheaper though.Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -
does anyone have an idea on the tag to hang on it? is there a design online with a gap to put the poem?
thanks0 -

The clear ones are in packs of 4 in the candle section for 89p.
I did say that they are for the tealights and I suppose I should have said same shape as the yellow ones, however there is not much difference in the size. I can say this for certain as I have bought both.0 -
just a message to say that the national lottery are now doing 'pots of gold' scratchcards, saw them advertosed on t.v today, although they are the £2 ones.
Not sure if people would want to put in a christmasy one or go 'pot of gold' mad:D
I am off to stock up tomorrow....:j:j:j0 -
Sorry have not checked back through the thread but I picked up 4 kilner jars from asda yesterday £1 each. They were about 10cm across x about 15cm high (sorry not to be exact but they are in the garage). Our asda (Swindon) had loads.
