  • I so wish i had an ikea near me, these are perfect, i have looked to see if they do them online but they don't so will have to keep looking, i am sure i will get something somewhere in the next 2 months, but i have everything apart from the pots so i am getter eager to find some, oh and i sneakily ate a couple of forrero rochets on sat night so i really need to get these wrapped up, sooner rather than later!! :o:rotfl:

  • For those doing pots of gold Tescos have the big boxes of 3 Ferrero Rocher on offer at half price at the mo £3.50 instead of £7 and also the gold choccie coins are at bogof too. These offers are online so i assume instore too.

I can remember someone last year had used a plastic plant pot and sprayed them with 'gold' spray paint, they looked brilliant.

Hi I wana make some pots of gold for my daughters aunts and uncles this xmas... I think im going to pop to Ikea and get a few of those glasses thanks for that idea rusty...

Does anyone know where I can find a Label? I found the poem on here but would like a template for a label if anyone can help please... also do you use cello bags or wrap?

    thanks :j
  • Last year I just used paper gold cups (left over from Son's pirate party), I also had to go out and buy some more too. I put gold tissue paper in the bottom. I filled mine up with a mini gold cracker, one finger twix, gold coins a nd ferro rocher, wrapped them up with cello wrap and sold them for £1.50 each I think. I didn't want to put scratch cards into the ones I was selling. They went down really well.
So this year I'm just getting all the things ready now as I have a few craft fairs booked.
  • thanks i got theses last year too:T
were they priced at 49p or just went through at that

I don't really know, for some reason i thought they were 79p and i'm doing some pots of gold for my friend who's struggling a bit financially this xmas so just picked them up. I did the self scan thingy and they went through at 49p each. Was quite embaressed (sp?) as I then only had to pay £1.96 on my card :o

oh well more savings for us :D
  • For those doing pots of gold and want a clear container I picked up 2 glasses (small tumblers) in sainsburys for 49p today, they will be perfect! I am going to have a trial run this afternoon then if they look rubbish I can go to ikea instead!

They would also be good for those doing multicoloured pots!

Totally inspired to do these as a surprise mini gift for christmas day for my mum, dad, grandma, OH and of course me!! Have ordered 5 gold plated coins from ebay as suggested my Claire Bear above as a 'keepable' little part of the gift. Would like to get the yellow pots from Ikea too.. does anyone know if they are the sort of size you could put a gold coloured tea light in so they could be re-used as a candle holder too? (+ candle would bulk up the bottom!)
