I am doing pots of silver.
I have white choc coins in silver foil and instead of a scratchcard there will be a £5 gift voucher in it. May also add some white chocolate buttons / mice etc that sort of thing.
I dont really want to encourage gambling besides if i bought scratchcards i doubt they would make it into the pots and i'd be gutted if someone i gave one to won it ig time.
Plus the ones im making are for kids or young teenagers.
I have no ideas on packaging yet but i'm sure over the next few weeks i will spot something that is perfect for the job.

I might even just use bags as the previous poster suggested as i dont see the point in spending money on them when they might not get used again.

Good idea. Hadn't thought of pots of silver.............I'll stick to my snowmen and pots of snowballs and maybe use the silver theme next year,
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

    Lovely picture...........oh if only..............:o

Just in case anyone wants them I did some little verses to go with my pots of snowballs:

    Pot of bath bombs:
In case we don't have a white christmas
(lets face it, we seldom do)
I'm sending a small pot of snowballs
To melt in the bath- just for you
Gravy granule tub of bon bons
In case we don't have a white christmas
When it's cold and your fingers turn blue
    I've collected these tasty snowballs
That melt in the mouth -just for you
    Mayonnaise jar of marshmallows
I'm dreaming of a white christmas
Just like the ones we used to know
But just in case this doesn't happen
I'm sending you this pot of snow
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

thanks mary - I love those ideas. there is a thread on making bath bombs - this is the link for making them
    http://www.thesoapkitchen.co.uk/bath_bomb_recipe.htm

they look fairly simple I might have a go. if they are white there is no need for colour!

I managed to get some white bath bombs from charity shop -unwanted gift - and some white bath salts to pour in with them. Not sure I dare attempt making any:eek: Me and making stuff don't seem to work somehow....but I'll have a look anyway.

I am wondering if anyone can help me with 2 things?

I got some lovely desert pots (Asda extra special profiteroles £1.28 each or 2 for £1.50) I have removed the labels and cleaned them out but I am thinking of filling them with the green triangles or some other kind of green sweet ... did anyone ever have a pot of gold poem but for green? or for a birthday?

It is SIL's birthday next week and I plan to just get her a voucher this year and was thinking I could put the voucher in the pot of gold/green. I am only saying green cause thats her favourite colour!

    Any help would be appreciated!

  • I did a pot of love with this poem - it was probably from somewhere on here.

Here's a little pot of love
    Handmade with you in mind
Because I made it, it's unique
Like you, you're one of a kind

Perhaps you could change love to green if you wanted?
