Pots of gold help!

Seen nice gold pots in £land yesterday. They were about 10cm diameter and would have been perfect but the opening at the top isn't very wide. I suppose they would be good if you just wanted to put a few things in but I like to have lots of things sticking out of the top.
They also had polystyrene bowls, 20 for £ which you could spray or paint gold. Or even decopage with gold napkins.
I am lazy though lol and just want to buy gold pots at a bargain price so I'm still looking.
I have used cheap glasses in the past and just lined them with gold tissue. They looked great in the end.He who smiles rather than rages is always

If anyone doing pots of gold is still looking for little extras to add, I spotted some 'Pirate Milk Chocolate Bars' in the confectionery aisle in Sainsbury's yesterday. There covered in gold foil, and at £1 for 6 could be a relatively cheap addition to the pots.0

we got the graze kids coupon as well
o well might have a squeeze of the mags later on in the week lol
my next door neighbour got tetley samples and a graze voucher - surprising to see so many different things.
sainsburys have lots of gold mercury glass items for those doing larger pots - candlesticks, votive holders and incense holders. Also bags of pot-pourri with gold bits in. They've got 2m of metal gold star bunting down to £5.33 and string lights for £4. Also, some of the room sprays have gold tops and the madagascan vanilla one (£3.50?) is a goldish coloured liquid.
Don't forget mcVities Gold biscuit bars too.
***Sainsbury also have candle-filled glass jars with gold design on the side; one at £5.33 & the smaller one something like £3.88 - I think they're frankinsence & myrrh scented.***0 -

Homebase had amaryllis sets with bulb, fibre and pot (gold), 3 for 2 at £7 each if anyone is looking for a different sort of pot. I thought I might plant them up, attach a (rich for life?) scratch card, ribbon and sellophane. Might even do the the secret santa gift I have to get for a colleague.somewhere between Heaven and Woolworth's0

I wonder if I can get some inspiration from you lovely people....
We have just been invited to a friend's Evening Wedding Reception and they have asked "for a contribution towards their Honeymoon." instead of a gift.
I was thinking of putting holiday vouchers/cash in a gold envelope and wrapping it up with some other goodies to do a "Wedding Pot of Gold" Present, but I am stuck with what I could write for the little rhyme.
Any suggestions would be most welcome.
(P.S. The Wedding is not until April but thought I would post now as not sure being a Christmas Thread anyone will be reading this if I posted nearer the time!)0 -
Not very neat as the slightest movement makes things move in the boxes.
Boxes - from a set of 10 Christmas gift boxes in various sizes from poundworld last year - 10p each
Gold shreded stuff. - Card Warehouse - £1
Gold coins - Wilko BOGOF - £1
gold caramel barrels - Wilko - £1
Crunchie - Sainsburys - 2 for 80p
Fererro Rocher (sp) - Asda - £1
Gold Lindt Hello Cookies & Cream - Sainsburys - 2 for £1
Money wallets - from a set of 4 from ebay for £1 (so the chocolate doesn't mark the lottery cards if it melts)
1 lucky dip - national lottery
5 scratch cards - £5
gold bows (got about 5 for £2.50 a few years ago - ebay)
I only make the two so I do tend to do them on a larger scale. Some of the chocolates were also made into a table gift for tomorrow too so there was more than enough to go round.Princess Sparklepants0 -

Hello - if anyone is still looking for pots, I have a few warped vinyl albums in the house because I left them in the sun - I looked for instructions and tried them just now on my warped 'tubular bells' vinyl lp and it worked! didn't have a cup, I had to use a small glass mixing bowl. Really really really hot like bacon when you take it out so watch your fingers. http://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2010/jan/26/turn-record-into-bowl£216 saved 24 October 20140
