I didn't end up doing them last year but am going to this year. They make lovely table gifts and if someone wins on the scratchcard it's great.
Aww, thank you - it's all so much fun. I love wrapping presents and making things pretty
I haven't yet. I was thinking about using little treasure chests for the boys - not my uncle
My Aunt died a few years ago and his kids (in their 40s, but ever so selfish :undecided) always make him cook for them but they only want fish and meat with salad, no potatoes/pasta/rice, etc. I worry about him not eating enough, he's getting thinner0 -
Adding my pics to this thread to show my pots of gold and give you an 'alternative' idea
Having the printed mugs pushed the price up a bit but I think it makes them extra specialThere are no other mugs the same in the world!

Oooo very fancy Kevin, I am very impressed. They will go down well I'm sure. Howay, tell us how much those mugs cost you.:D
Freyasmum, your uncle is very fortunate to have you looking out for him, it's nice to be nice isn't it....his children should be ashamed of themselves!

for anyone making Pots of Gold for adults - the Waitrose November mag (which is free if you have a MyWaitrose card) has 2 individually wrapped (in a goldish foil) Yorkshire Gold teabags inside.
*** they might not be in all the magazines as my mum has just got hers and has a Graze coupon instead***

My OH had the bright idea of doing pots of silver this year but I have decided to add red as well. He bought 6 silver noddle boxes :rotfl: but I think they will look OK. So far I have 3 miniatures of snow grouse, they have silver tops and silvery writing this is for dad, OH and DS. A red book of 1st class stamps for mum and gran, some merryteasers from Asda yesterday, and some silver chocolate coins. Will line with shredded silver paper and add some red and silver curling ribbons. Just need more silver chocs to go in and a bottle of something for DD. :beer:0
