Just seen a story on BBC news channel Approved Food has shut down due to its own success. Missed the full story. Something from tomorrows newspaper.
All I heard was that Approved Foods a Sheffield based company that had been running for some years had been shut down due to its own success.
Anyone know what its about ? The sites still up?

LOL, Dan doesn't know anything about it so why should we? And they're not in Sheffield they're in Worksop :p :rotfl:

  • you are only protected on a credit card if you spend more than £99 hth

I think that they (Mutter) are probably trolls that are jealous of the success that Dan has had or they are attention seekers.

I am just about to put in a order, dh has just spotted the marmite!!!

I do not know what mutter's problem is with this site but judging from this thread its not the first time he/she has been out spoken

Yes-Mutter seems to have a problem with everybody-very opionated and doesnt seem to remember "be nice to moneysavers". Got to be more to it than this though unless he/she is a complete sh***stirrer.

I think weekend papers often run stories that are a little old- I think it will be related to how people are coping in current climate etc and be about the close down before Christmas.
I wonder what would happen if more people got to find out about the site? Lots of people take the view that they won't eat food past its use by date I guess, but it would be difficult if thousands of people try to order at once.

Yes sure-it closed for Xmas and New year to catch up with orders cos they were so busy and Dan left me a message on my answermachine today-and my order is with DHL at this very minute! Funny that-cos it was despatched today. However-Im guessing you are just kidding anyhow but for those who may believe it-that is the REAL situation!!!
Oh and dried foods dont need freezing-the date issue is fully explained in the "about us" section on the site and no-Ive nothing to do with the site but I believe in fairness and honesty.

edit: comment re "just kidding" withdrawn. Whyme is being genuine.

Don't think whyme is being mischievious- we are getting a bit paranoid after the mutter trolling thing:p . I think the papers are all over the credit crunch and this site looking for stories. Suddenly we are fashionable...
