Also, everything i ordered on Monday, is now out of stock on the website... everything!!

I think the issue is that, looking through the posts there does not seem to be any consistency with the timeframe for orders.

My order is not vitally important to me,it contains stuff for packed lunches, which I can (and have)picked up at Tesco whilst I am waiting. Others may be in greater need and not want to have payment taken weeks before despatch.

I can't understand how someone who placed an order on Tuesday, and has received a despatch email, can have had their order picked and packed yet there are droves of us still waiting for orders submitted well before that date.

That is not a teething problem, that is bad order management. Dan is doing a good job,but is not above critiscism, and there are issues(other than order volume)which need to be addressed and discussed.
  • You have a good point Poet123, I'm the one who ordered on Tue and my stuff has been despatched, obviously I'm happy but if I was still waiting from a couple of weeks ago I certainly wouldn't be. I have no idea why mine was dealt with before earlier orders, I didn't email or phone to chase at all, it does seem to be the luck of the draw but as you say it is something that needs to be addressed.

I hope you get yours soon. :)

I wonder how there despatch process works. I work in a busy warehouse, and i would imagine that ours is a hell of a lot harder than dans process becuase of serial numbers from the goods, and i cant imagine dan has to log goods on a serial number database.

At my warehouse we dont have any electronic barcode scanning what so ever, we are well behind the times. Their are 4 of us in the warehouse, and we pick pack and also pick and pack spares. We also produce a sticky label from the carriers system, then log all the info on our database and produce a delivery record. We then stick all this on the goods. Yes, it does take an age, but all the admin side of it i do myself.

I struggle to see why they are coping so bad with orders. I dont mean to critise here, becuase i know nothing about how dan runs his warehouse / pick pack operations... but what i do know is that with setting on another 20 staff AND having a night shift.... i would of thought that there wouldnt be a back log! Unless they are litterelly getting thousands of orders in a day!!!

We can process about 300 orders comfortably a day in my warehouse, and there is only 4 of us.

My parcel is at my local depot now. I ordered on the 26/01/09!
  • I've been fortunate with my orders (the last arriving in 5 days). I order about 20 lines to the max 28kg, a couple of items have been refunded off each and have been able to buy items ordered previously. If I can speculate in my case, success has been due (perhaps) to wanting items that may be less popular (such as packet soups) combined with ordering new items as soon as they appeared on the site. May not fit with other peoples' experience but from a timing/choice perspective makes sense in mine. As AP gets on top of supply/demand and we start to see less mention of delays here, I'll adjust the way I order.

That said, I really hope everyone who has been waiting has their order issues sorted out soon. Given the nature of availability of out of date stock, it would be useful to see a posted policy of the AP website for out of stock situations, plus items removed from the website when stock is running out.

With all the media coverage i presume their orders must be running into thousands every single day.I won't be surprised if the figure is 5000 parcels every single day.

I reckon Dan is working hard to shift the goods out asap .Goods out of stock are indicated.I think maybe he is due a delivery of the items that are marked as out of stock.
