Do I hold out for the beans to be put on the website? I've got my order all rady to be sent. Maybe the beans have already sold out from the warehouse/shop? I always put in an order then something appears that I wanted! :rotfl:

Point is yes, its inevitable that temporarily there are going to be difficulties until the company invests in the things that will allow it to meet its new level of demand, so coming back later and looking at how the company is doing is sensible as you cannot judge the quality of service while it is going through its growing pains. Also its a few less orders overloading the system.

So greatgimp, by all means come back later when the teething problems are sorted, I myself am not making another purchase until the backlog is sorted out so I don't add to the flood, but I have confidence that approved foods will do very well.
Please don't read my sentiments wrong – I am very pleased that somebody can do well nowadays, and in turn supply an item that is much lower than alternative sources, thereby helping someone else in the process. Dan deserves a medal for coping with this runaway success as well as he has. Your metaphors are spot on. Very selfish I know, I'm just a little depressed that the general public has found this hidden gem (me amongst them, curiously).

Incidentally, I also feel his prices have remained consistent, even with new lines. Some companies may have used this new-found popularity to increase their prices, but not Dan. I just feel like conceding this facility until the company catches up.

Didn't think you were moaning and threatening to not buy again, I quoted you so I could clarify such a statement as being a sensible one, as well as an opportunity to give my good opinion of Approved Foods by stating what is wrong with most large stores. Like I said I'm the first to whinge at at faceless profit mad manipulative companies, so its a refreshing change for me :D

Definitely a great pity (apart for Dan )AF is now not one of the hidden gems that the lucky few benefit from, greater pity I didn't find out about it before the big rush, but c'est la vie

If I had more time, it would be interesting - possibly even entertaining - to see just how many posts there are on this thread from Skint_Catt that have the word 'beans' in them.

PMSL, sorry :o It's the one thing I get through more than anything so to have them on AF would be wonderful. I'll get me coat!
  • Just to offer my 2p's worth!

Just wondering if would be any help if perhaps Dan closed the online order option for a while to stop people from putting more orders in whilst they clear up the backlog and sort out missing orders etc?

At least this way Dan can clear up the back log without extra orders being added to the chaos, and when the online order option is reopened, buyers will have a more clearer view of what items are in stock and available.

Just my thoughts, but then I don't know anything about running a business, so don't know whether they can be taken on board!

icecubequeen - not a bad idea (he's done it before) but then you have more people ordering the day they re-open and you're back to square one I'm guessing.

I'm still offering to manage a branch down here if they wish to expand! :D

    (beans) :p

  • Hi

This is my first time of posting so be gentle. I just had to come on and tell you all that I went to AF with my 2 boys and we met Dan and his wonderful staff and bought lots and lots of yummy things. I just wanted to let you all know that the beans are there but in my excitment I dont know how much I paid for them I just bought them not very mse I know. Dan also said that he was expecting a new batch of bakin boys today but I would imagine it will take a while to get them on web. So thanks to the op. And thanks to Dan and his staff and no doubt I will see you all soon.
