They're not butter beans - I hate butter beans, but I liked this, they are giant beans (completely like giant baked beans) and very tasty.

Exactly the same product is £2.79 a jar in Asda.
Yes- you are right.Giant baked beans-maybe Borlotti beans?
I think it has a slightly smokey flavour- a bit bbq? I can't quite isolate what it is about it that I don't really go for-but one of the kids really loves it.

I think those people (albeit only a few) complaining should quit being selfish and greedy!

Dans business has just gone from being a small outfit on the corner of town, to a national business overnight!!!

Give the guy a break, i think he is coping tremendously with the sudden change, and the fact that he has been so polite to give us updates is fantastic customer service!

So a few of us will miss out on things we wanted because it went out of stock, so a few of us can get stuff as cheap elsewhere. The bottom line is though Dan is offering most of us bargains beyond our wildest dreams! For those items that are slightly cheaper elsewhere, i don't care...I don't want to sit in traffic, take an hour out of my day, and carry bags and bags when i can get it all delivered to my door along with my other fantastic buys from his site! Bargain!!

Ultimately you WILL get your order, and if anything is out of stock you WILL get refunded for it....so what exactly are you losing?? Quit being impatient!

I think some forget that Dan has a family and a real life of which he has put both on hold to try and cope with the sudden influx of orders.... and who is he doing this for? US!!!

Thank you Dan for a wonderful website! I will be ordering time and time again!!!

I think you might be missing some people's points. When they pay a £5.50 delivery charge, they want to get the most out of the 28kg? So when they have ordered something, and its out of stock, they would like to order something else to make up the weight of the parcel... basically to get their monies worth, which is fair doo's!

    Its quite simple really.

Looks like they've spawned a monster, I'm so pleased for them, we have to make sure we keep them going now
I just had a look and won't make another order till next week.
I still have 5 tins of Campbells Tomato Soup and don't know what to do with them as DH doesn't like it.

  • I see the Twix - Standard Bar - 51g

    £0.29 per bar or 5 for £1.00.
    Twix - Standard Bar
    51g
    Best Before: 08/03/2009

when you put it in shopping cart it comes up as 5 for £1.45 and not 5 for £1
So worth checking your basket that it goes through right.

Whilst I have some sympathy for what you are saying, and I have had very few problems myself, if I was on a really tight budget and had spent £30 on food which I was relying on to feed the kids for packed lunches, or me, then I would be just as unhappy. It is very difficult to see how Dan could manage the situation better than he is, but that doesn't mean that some people could not suffer genuine difficulties if the food they ordered doesn't come within a week, say. Its not greedy or selfish to want to get the stuff you have ordered. Lets be understanding and helpful to those who are seeing some of us sitting happily with our stuff while they wait...:o

i agree...i do not know why she feels people are complaining, selfish and greedy!!!

the delay notice was not up when i placed my order!!

i was then promised a delivery on tuesday and waited in allll day...to no avail..

now the parcel is lost in the warehouse?

i know dan and his team will have it sorted soon, i'm not worried...
but in my honest opinion i would rather hassle free shopping, even if that means i have to struggle with my double pushchair.......

Ive been lucky getting my order within a week, but I find it rather smug for people in the same happy position as me, to expect people who haven't recieved their orders not to complain  I would, as would anybody I know:rolleyes:

  • I'd like to point out, i too haven't received my 1st order yet, made on 14th so i am not gloating at those that haven't got theirs!!

Personally i think £5.50 is great for up to 28kg, DHL charge me £11 for up to 20kg, so Dan has got us a good deal there! Yeah it's fair enough that people want their monies worth, but to get angry and start slating the company because they missed on a few cakes seems a bit far for me.

As to people suffering genuine difficulties if their food doesn't arrive.... for starters i can't see how people can be doing their main food shop this way, so surely they have access to other food? Like i said i haven't had mine yet, but i won't starve, i go up to the supermarket and buy a few supplies....easy!

I think really my point was that it makes me sad. Some people cannot afford and have never tasted food like we do in this country, we are lucky, and yet to see people complaining about "I want my bargains and i want them NOW!" it's just all rather sickening. In some countries people walk for days to get a bit of water and rice. We just order food online and it arrives, on the scale of things i really don't care if it's a few days late!

As someone who has had a couple of businesses of my own in the past, i know how immensely time consuming and hard work it is. Dan is doing everything in his power to sort things out for us, but yet some people still don't think it's good enough. Like i said give the guy a break, he's trying his best. (We are dealing with a one man band here, not a multinational company!) If it isn't good enough for you, then go back to the queues and prices at Tescos.
