  • Hi all

Just to let you know whats happening at our end...

    The good news
All this publicly has brought suppliers out from everywhere and i'm confident we can take "value for money" to a new level! We've got things like Heinez Soups coming in at £1.50 for a case of 12. I don't want to say much more until its in the warehouse but the deals i've made are exclusive to us and will produce belting lines for you.

    The bad news
We could never afford a national advertising campaign and over the past couple of weeks we've got one. I'm not complaing but its like from going 5 mph to 100mph in a split second! (i've never expreienced this before as i only drive a van ;))
I'm reacting to a change in business as quick as possible and in 1 week leased a new packing warehouse and set on 25 people. We still have a back log of orders but there's is a masterplan in hand to sort that out.

We've got a new number for customers to contact us on 01909 488151 with problems but you can still contact me on 07881621603 if you feel your problems are not been soted.

Were having some problems with training and what comes with moving to a 24 /7 operation but i've got some great people around me who are as passionate about what were doing as much as me.

    Cheers Dan

as dan has said he has set up a new packing warehouse for orders, does this mean you can still visit and shop in person or is all the items for sale now at the packing plant

Can i ask when is your money taking of your card? When your order is received or despatched?
 Jan grocery challenge £300/£210 spent so far.I can do this:T
  • I put an order in on the 20th jan, money was taken out on 22nd of jan. So presume they are processing my order - not sure when i will receive it yet but i am aware of 12day delay and back log of orders - so i'm guessing ill get mine the end of the month or beginning of feb....

I'd like to point out, i too haven't received my 1st order yet, made on 14th so i am not gloating at those that haven't got theirs!!

Personally i think £5.50 is great for up to 28kg, DHL charge me £11 for up to 20kg, so Dan has got us a good deal there! Yeah it's fair enough that people want their monies worth, but to get angry and start slating the company because they missed on a few cakes seems a bit far for me.

As to people suffering genuine difficulties if their food doesn't arrive.... for starters i can't see how people can be doing their main food shop this way, so surely they have access to other food? Like i said i haven't had mine yet, but i won't starve, i go up to the supermarket and buy a few supplies....easy!

I think really my point was that it makes me sad. Some people cannot afford and have never tasted food like we do in this country, we are lucky, and yet to see people complaining about "I want my bargains and i want them NOW!" it's just all rather sickening. In some countries people walk for days to get a bit of water and rice. We just order food online and it arrives, on the scale of things i really don't care if it's a few days late!

As someone who has had a couple of businesses of my own in the past, i know how immensely time consuming and hard work it is. Dan is doing everything in his power to sort things out for us, but yet some people still don't think it's good enough. Like i said give the guy a break, he's trying his best. (We are dealing with a one man band here, not a multinational company!) If it isn't good enough for you, then go back to the queues and prices at Tescos.
I do agree with a lot of what you say- but if you were short of cash and had spent soem of what you had on stuff from AP, which would be moneysaving when it arrived, it could cause problems if it didn't.
Anyway, I hope that Dan is able to expand at the rate he needs to- I wonder whether he has already had the majority of coverage he can expect and the news agenda will move on, or whether there will be more stories to come. I am also interested whether there is a limit to the number of people in the country who would be willing to buy this sort of thing, or whether attitudes are changing as people are worried about money.
When I think how unfashionable its been to save money even by buying food at the end of its sell by date in the supermarket- and for instance the nasty postings on the Waitrose facebook site about people buying end of date food, I wonder how many people will be able to swallow their misplaced pride and get stuff past its bb date.
Sorry if that was off topic...
