got DLA letter. what i expected - HRM and MRC. Burst into tears when I read it. DS gave me a hug though (although he has no idea as hes only 18 mths) think it is a bit scary that someone else thinks it too as me and OH are always talking about it but i guess seeing it in writing makes it a bit more real. Anyway means I can sort out the budget a bit more. The letter doesnt actually say when it will be paid though which is helpful! :rolleyes: From the dates I assume it is on a tuesday? I dunno. will take a look on disability forum!

DS is going to bed in a mo so will do a little bit of work and will look at finances. from quick glance - looks like things will be okay. grr...still no letter from work yet...grr

Not knowing much (or anything) really about DLA - what does HRM and MRC mean? Were they tears of joy or tears of happiness? Keeping fingers crossed that it means good news! Sorry for my ignorance (and indeed if you have already posted, but have read your thread and cannot really remember if you have:o )

TurnaroundSue - thanks and hugs back to you :grouphug:HRM (Higher rate mobility) and MRC (Middle rate care). Just the catergories (!) they put people in. Think it was more that it was awarded for "an indefinate period". Really hit home that I am a "bit poorly". xx

Today is going ok..oooh postie. Why did I bother? got updated tax credits...now entitled to 42 a month? but its not right anyway as haven't got correct figures....so why send it? they are stooopid. well at least I won't owe THEM money. Oh more to the point...no letter from work....:mad:

DS is not happy for some reason. cried when I offered him a banana and he loves bananas. bizarre. he is getting serious seperation anxiety! :eek:

jobs for today as follows - work/put washing on/sort folders/ring car ins/send car tax form/ring job centre?/finances and budget.

have decided might aswell look at finances first and play with DS then will crack on when he is sleeping later will update later... BH XX

Sorted budget out until end june. All looking good.

Debt bustin will be done on a 3 monthly basis as I get paid qtry from one of my jobs and so works out better if I do it like that.

am waiting for c180 quids worth of sales/cash back to havent counted those yet. not bad for jan! no need to budget for car tax as now get DLA dont have to pay. looking at spreadsheets will be cc free by june even if I dont do any selling!!! YAY! WOOP WOOP. Once cc gone will be able to sleep easier (not that they r chasing us) just i know its expensive!

From any selling I do and extra money - need 1,500 roughly in emergency fund (so far 180), need 250 for car service in may, need to put aside for tax in jan 10 (this year already sorted), and also build up some cash for xmas 09. And I have to do all that in ADDITION to pay 20k by 2009. God...its going to be a long year...:eek: Have worked out that need an extra 8k this year to meet my target. so doing the maths... 8k for 20k by 09, 1300 for emergency fund, 250 for service, tax...thats another 12k odd?? I do have a heck of a lot of stuff to sell but will need to work hard to get anywhere near this. can use emergency fund for car and tax but would prefer not to.. we'll see it is early days and now i have caught up with work/odd jobs about house will have more time to sell bits and bobs.

anyway lunch time then got to do some work and put washing on. Will make calls later when OH gets home BH xx

Morning me! am so bunged up today. i hate having a cold. who can i give it to? hmmm....

DS is happier today. think he must have been feeling a bit pooey yesterday. he has a cough similar to mine....whoops. bless him. although it is early still! might have just cursed my day!!

family all still "with us". seems to be some improvement but drs have said that with OH nan is going to be a long old road. Now just have 2 grandparents in there which is good. means I can visit him. OH won't let me go in as doesn't want me to catch anything (and I will). Fair enough just i wanna see them and feel guilty. OH assures me he has passed on hugs and kisses.

DLA gone in today. so thats good and more than I expected. Plan for today is [strike]work[/strike]/[strike]calls etc didn't do yesterday[/strike]/[STRIKE]sort folders/paperwork[/STRIKE]/enjoy DS/feb figs and then study... have to do some today as got presentation to do.

I am still positive that I can make my 20k. Not sure about the extras...will see how it goes. wish they would accept snot. got plenty of that!! anyway...will update later as just realised that no pay day so what am I waiting for with feb??? can do and update sig etc... have a good day! xx

Have sorted figs out. have realised I make a balls up of the figures completely last month. Where was my brain?? must have been in lapland. So...it is looking not great again. Have updated siggie. will update 20k thread next.

all up to date as of today. No confusion. don't want to mess it up again!!! Will then at end of next month to avoid slip ups! (Even though I want to do it in advance!!!!!!) Gawd i am sad....

Had a good day today. done all my jobs and just got some printing to do then finished work. tonight will be filled with study. joy of joys! :j :j

Morning mse!!

Not much planned for today. Got some work to do this morning and a bit of studying too. then off out this evening to party (completely MSE) I am still full of cold. Everyone still "with us". Checked banks - no surprises there. Little DS is full cold as well but happy.

Morning!!! Seriously this cold is getting on my nerves now....so full of snot. feel ruff.

checked banks and sorted spreadsheets for today. no surprises again. DS is happy as larry and seems to have shifted his cold. Party was good last night.

plan for today is - work/study/enjoy DS/chill out....

Why do I feel soooo miserable???
Have been looking at objectives for this year -

1) Make a HUGE dent in the amount owed - if I can do the pay 20k challenge that would be amazing.
1a) get rid of expensive debts - easily do-able as only £1700 left!
1b) "tidy" up of finances when all expensive debts paid off.
2) MOVE house - atm living with rents as simply no other option. Sold our house don't want to buy again becuz a)financial crisis and b) dont want to add to our debt anymore. Will therefore be renting - on council waiting list. there is simply nothing on private rental market that is reasonable e.g 2 bed 700pcm on a month notice basis if the house sold. not practical with an 18mth old DS! AND that is the only house that has been available for about 6 months. So have no option but to wait for council really. and without being a bit morbid - if anything happens to me - OH needs to be able to afford to live and so council would be the best place for him. Once have cleared debts will then be saving for a good deposit to purchase house with an affordable mortgage.
2a)will need c£1,500 to decorate/furnish house. Have a lot of things already but will need to buy an oven, carpets etc....
3) have a holiday! even if it is a DFW/MSE holiday!! Although I have no idea how/if this is even do-able at present!
4) need to get enough money to cover "extras" and save for tax next year. will start to think about this next month...!
5) enjoy life, enjoy family and friends, relax and try to stay healthy!!!

I know we are on the right track but in a way I wish I could speed things up a little bit!
Plan for this arvo is to do some work whilst baba is sleeping. Can't be bothered to study today. will do some tomorrow as no work!! whoop whoop! (work from home but allocate my hours on mon-thurs only so I feel like I have some free time!)

anyway just typing things in here has made me feel better already. oh the joys of MSE. Will catch up tomorrow now. Heres hoping someone gives me 35k before then???? xx

OMG Still full of cold and snot. please will you go away???

checked banks and all ticking over smoothly. Sold another book. woop woop! nice relaxing day today. going to do a bit of study and just chill out with baba.

nothing to report. weekend will be filled with visiting family/sorting out dining room (its a tip)/listing items on ebay with OHs help/bit of study/ chilling out!!!

Still full of cold......feel worse today!!! ah well...

checked banks and tax credits have credited me 200 odd quid?? !!!!!!? no paperwork yet so will wait to see what it is all about...last letter I got we would be getting 46 odd a month??? I dunno...what are they doing?? BUT on the plus side if it is spendable....that could see the end of MBNA CC! Woop woop!!!
Other than that fairly boring here. mum is taking DS to see the snowdrops this arvo so I can just sleep! haha!! OH has gone visiting. Have decided that I am too ill to visit sick people incase I give them my cold!!!
