Morning!
Well just when I think everything is going rosey - OH comes home from work and says the dreaded word - REDUNDANCY!:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: What is the matter with the world? Our karma SUCKS!
He will hear next week whether he will get the chop or not. 16 going out of 50 employees! This is first batch and can not say won't be more in next few months! Typical. They are not offering much of an incentive to volunteer so that's not really an option. OH has been there for a while and (we think) he is in a good position compared to others in his dept so we shall see. They have quite a few long term sickies as well so hopefully he will survive this batch
Oh well..nothing we can do about it will just have to wait and see. OH will have to start looking for another job just in case. Just like the other millions of people in the UK  Scary times...I spose worse case scenario is we will have to claim benefits. Just like the other millions of people in the UK  OH would be entitled to claim carers allowance then :rotfl:have done an estimate and our budget doesn't healthy and would give us 3 quid as a disposable income :rotfl:spose I should be grateful really it is not a minus figure!!!! If I didn't laugh I would cry.
In other news...banking all done and scratchies...all fine. no secret millions unfortunately
Plan for today is to
1/play with DS
2/work hours
so fairly quiet one! hope every1 has a good day !DFW Nerd #11520 -
Here's to no bad news today!DFW Nerd #11520

Sorry to hear about your OH job - fingers crossed he'll be fine.
Times are scarey at the moment, it's amazing how peoples worlds can be turned upside down in just one day. Just spurs me on to get into a position that I would always be ok in an emergency....long way off it yet though :-(0 -
Thanks Karen - that's exactly how I feel. It is a long way off for us though too!!
Well another day is here and almost gone. Done banking and scratchies. nothing interesting to report there!
OH not heard any more. Have to wait until Tuesday. From talking to people at work - he genuinely thinks he will survive this round. But who knows? He is going to start the ball rolling looking for another job at the weekend. Then even if he does get the chop, be it now or in the future, he is already in the loop of jobs IYSWIM. Although the jobs pages are pretty thin atm  We'll see. Anyway I am trying not to dwell on it until we know its going to happen!
CAR MOT is due on Tuesday. I've got 200 saved for this. Hopefully won't need to use all of this. But am being a bit tight with the cash though until its been done as it needs to be done!!!!!!!!
Still no news on any benefits etc  Saw my dr thingy today (not actually a dr but something similar? I don't know.....) who said that we should speak to social services about arranging some home help for OH. I think it would be useful - as I physically can't do some things - but OH is reluctant to accept this as feels like he has let us down! (Stupid man...) She gave some info - the going rate at ss is £14 odd an hour!!!!!!!!! You can employ someone yourself and they can help u sort out the issues (there are many!!!) I will be discussing with OH later but I was thinking probably 3 hours a week would be enough for them to come and do a complete clean of the house but £14 a hour seems high. Adverts in local news for £8 p/hr some are £10 p/hr. Obviously that is why people tend to employ their own help despite the hassle!! Tricky one. I won't be sorting it out for a month or so yet anyway - need to get house and finances sorted!!!!
Plan for rest of today is - bit of work until OH comes home then we are going to see about getting a carpet for bedrooms. Woop woop.
Have a good afternoon all!! XXDFW Nerd #11520 -
Well. It has been a few days and i've been thinking. Lots. Spurred on by some horrible people in a shop t'other day saying "people like that shouldn't have kids" Eh?...what have I done?
Oh becuz I'm disabled !! It is strange how we see other people and sometimes (all perhaps all of the time!) we don't get the whole picture. DS wasn't even doing anything naughty - we were just waiting on OH to come back with the correct pillowcase! :rotfl: But anyway...for some reason it has got me thinking about things and so have therefore been number crunching....
I'm keeping on with the 20k target but I am going to fail miserably! But at least it gives me kick up the old butt!!!!!
i'm budgeting for min payments each month now but it takes our DFD to Xmas 2013! But that isn't too bad as it is actually 4 and a bit years?!? Which isn't too much of a disaster is it???? (4 more years of MSE YAY!!!) I shall be putting extra amounts to debt on a month by month basis not a set amount. think this might work better!
I have only got my tax and christmas left to find money for this year now. I am *pretty* confident I can make this from selling stuff. I am not planning on saving any money for christmas next year as I will put my course money into savings once the DD stops in July...this will give me about 700 quid which will be more than enough!!!!!!!!!! And it probably means no holiday next year....
So in essence I think I have admitted defeat and have accepted that I need to slow down on DFWness. It is a shame but i/oh can't do everything. there aren't enough hours in the day. OH is also a firm believer that if you have your down time u do better in your up time! Still no holiday though....
Anyway..it is late.
Night night xxDFW Nerd #11520 -
Hey guys!
I've just joined this site so BIG HELLO to everyone!!
I thought I would share a bit about myself. I'm a Recruitment Consultant working in the city, I joined last August and it has been such a struggle financially for me - I'm not making any money in commission at the moment and the basis is ridiculous. I've been used to saving a few hundred each month but instead I have been eating into it! I work 12 hour days easily and I'm always tired! I wanted to get a second job but REALLY??! I still want a life!!
Anyway, a couple of months ago I came across a website which led me to freedomcash123 (.) com/blog/. After a lot of thought I got the "RJ" and I am actually making money!
I'm paying back my savings before I do anything else! I had £204 in my savings and now I have £2,034.27 - 100% from the "RJ" system and not from my proper job. And that's from an hour and half a week!
I'm going to try to increase the hours I spend on it slowly and hopefully (God willing) by the end of the year I might be able to leave work and do it full time.
I think in this current climate everybody needs another stream of income becomes normal jobs aren't guaranteed.
Anyway check it out: freedomcash123 (.) com/blog/. If it's working for me I don't see why it won't work for everyone!
Lot's of love
