Still haven't had the time to catch up on here! I'm not letting things slide though just haven't got a spare week (!) to catch up on all the diaries etc. I don't have internet at home yet (as BT keep messing it up!) but I will definately catch up!!

Things are going well otherwise....being VERY VERY careful with what we are spending...food is sooooo expensive. Can I live off beans on toast?? No..I can't as I meant to be putting on weight!! DOH!! Doesn't really help with my DFWness...

Oh well...£10 scratchie payout today WOOP WOOP.....xxx

    Morning!

Why it has been a while since I have done this in the morning!! Hope everyone is good. It is rainy and horrid here

We are all moved in...have no carpets yet but we are in which is the main thing! We are just generally busy as well....which means it takes longer. Then I have to be careful I don't nearly kill myself by doing too much - am completely knackered!!

Plan for today is TIDY up (as its a tip here!) do a few bits of work, get my hair cut later (which I have just realised I only just have enough money to pay for!!!) then do bit more work before I go to sleep........

Money wise....am sending off my HB claim today. I was speaking to someone yesterday who said I should be entitled to claim the IB equivalent part of JSA. So I have put in a claim for this today as well. Even if they say no least I know it has been looked at - I'll be annoyed if I can claim it though as was told in December I couldn't  But we'll see.
Benefits are such a silly thing.

Done banking and scratchies all ok. withdrawn 10 today as well :D i am working on figs etc...need to do another SOA as well when im bit more sorted!

Have a good day all! xx

    Well another miserable day outside....yukky!!

Done banking and scratchies...no surprises there. the way our current budget works means that our "new month" starts on Tuesday.

BUT i need to look at our budget!! Have received water bill BUT no council tax or electric bill yet  Hark at me trying to be organised! I have set up water for monthly DD as I can't be faffed with a water card and can't guarantee that we will be good and save up for it! So DD it is. When council tax comes I will set up a DD for this as well. I won't be doing it for the electric though as at our last house they took 300 quid out of our acc for the previous occupants arrears  SO im a bit scared by this but I'll look into it (as in if it saves us a lot of money i might be tempted lol) when then bill comes....I only know it is with SWALEC....who ive not heard of b4.

Have a huge pill of post etc which I am working thru this morning. Then I should be up to date and can update siggy etc...will leave budget as it is for now until I hear about any benefits we can claim.

MUST SEND MACHINE OFF ASAP - still haven't done this -:mad::mad:

anyway...keep trucking and all that! xx

Well..updated signature with figs...bit disappointed as not made any overpayments this month so fig hasn't reduced much  this DFW !mallarky is hard work! Oh well...spose i shouldn't grumble after all it is our own doing!! Just sometimes wish I was a millionaire!

Now I've done my sig..just waiting for all the bills to arrive so I can offically "sort them out" and include in my budget. Also waiting to hear whether we can claim HB etc. So once all figs are confirmed for ins and outs will do a new SOA and work things out properly! Until then it is just going to stay with my estimate figs etc....i'll then work out a little plan for debt aswell!!

I have just had a winge (!) to OH about figs and he was actually interested for once! (Athough I think it might be becuz he wants sky and I told him we couldn't afford it at the moment! So he is prolly only interested to see when we can afford it lol) Anyway I digress...He reminded me that this time last year we wouldn't have known nor been bothered by it and he was actually shocked about how much it has reduced by! He was like..."well we've lost a wage etc etc...and we've still paid how much???" AND he pointed out that we have bought things for the house with (drum roll please) CASH not credit which is prolly how we would have done it before. which is all true I guess. It's just I would prefer it if we could just be saving instead of repaying debt! BUT there is no rush as (unless we get kicked out!) we can stay here forever in theory and I think I need to appreciate that more!!!!! So with that in mind....

THERE IS NO RUSH - THERE IS NO RUSH - THERE IS NO RUSH - THERE IS NO RUSH - THERE IS NO RUSH - THERE IS NO RUSH - THERE IS NO RUSH!

    Morning...

done banking and scratchies...all fine. no wages yet but sometimes it clears tonight. l have to pay rent but it will have to wait until tomorrow! I doubt 1 day will make much difference ;)

    Plan for today is

1/WORK WORK WORK - (have been busy doing other things and have got a bit behind - need to catch up today!!)
2/finish packing up machine for OH to take to PO tomorrow
3/get forms filled in for HB for OH to take to PO tomorrow (need to send rec del!)
    4/play with DS lots :D

I've been thinking that i need a new diary really - everything has changed so much since I first started it and so I think I will start a new one with our new !plan! once I get around to it... I find doing a diary *so* useful.

I am limiting my time on MSE as well. Since I didn't come on here for a while it was noticable how much time i spent reading things on here. Good for the motivation though :D Will come on every day to make sure I keep going, update on here and read/join in on other threads etc. will see how it goes...

Other than that everything is going fine...loving being a self sufficient family again but i need to be more organised! Meal plans etc....although our last shop 10 days ago was 60 quid and we still have lots...def more MSE than we used to be. We caught up with some friends who told us they spend 100 per week and it is just the 2 of them with no kids (so no nappies etc) When I told her that was a lot she said "no wonder we don't ever have any money!" I suppose we used to be like that as well so proof u can change! :o

we got our veg from the market - 2.60 and its still going strong! can't believe how cheap(and good) fruit and veg is from the market..don't think i'll ever buy it from a supermarket again :D

Anyway..getting hungry now. Must get on doing some work....have a good day all and see u tomorrow!!!!

Wow - you've done loads since i've last posted! I've popped in and read a bit now and again and kept meaning to post but I decided to give myself a week away from here as was signing on far too much :o

Anyhow, so pleased you are finally settled in your new home. It must be lovely for you all.

As for the debts, you have been doing great and I am sure you will continue to do so. I've learnt to take it a bit slowly re the money side of things, I keep having crazy ideas in my head like it'll be gone in a year....ummmm how  Silly me!

Funnily enough me and OH spend a lot on shopping - wish we didn't! It's one area I know we could reduce and really save some money but OH isn't interested in this as he enjoys having what he wants. He's the sensible one of us both and has hardly any debt at all. I don't blame him, he works hard and has savings etc but it doesn't help me  I try and do the shopping when I can so can limit the damage :rotfl:

Anyhow, will pop back and catch up again soon. Take care x

Karen - i'm the same as you - some days I login here FAR too much. it is sooo addictive!

My OH is the same with shopping - his argument is that he works etc and deserves some treats! I'm like u in that I TRY and be sensible. It is hard to find the balance sometimes though. Take care too xx

    Morning!!

    Will it ever stop raining??

:j I have made progress!! Done everything from my list yesterday - yay! It always feels nice when you achieve something!! :D funny that....lol. :D

    Plan for today is

    1/catch up with WORK
2/pay bills need to over the phone
    3/sort out asda delivery

Think that is about it for today. Have been looking at figs for year and stuff. Definately not going to make the 20k challenge  Disappointing but it doesn't really matter really as we are making good progress. AND i have to chill out about it. So I AM! we are getting back to zero which is the main thing!!

Am going to do a grid for the fridge to chart progress and to practice my colouring in! :D The least it will do will scare me into not making sooo much tea! Been having the xmas debate with OH as well...last year we spent 500 on just presents  but that was mainly for DS (Yes he is a bit spoilt i KNOW!) this year we are going to need some scran as well. We have decided to stay just the 3 of us this year which will be nice and then have everyone over on boxing day. Although this inevitably means it will cost us money having to feed everyone its just easier for us than if we visit as we have to take sooo much stuff! OMG it is only May and am talking about xmas  I don't know how much is reasonable really??? OH family totally love xmas and so always spend loads where as mine aren't really bothered. What is a reasonable amount for spending?? Anyone got any ideas??????

Have finished studying now until Sept so will be cracking on with ebaying/car boots etc.

    Anyway..better crack on....have a good day everyone!!
