Anyway..done banking and scratchies. Seems luck stops at the house today though! Nothing else to report.

Plan for weekend is work/studying (!)/sorting bits and bobs out!

Thanks Karen - yes it is such a relief. Slept really well last night - at least I know we are not going to be homeless next week!!!!

They are doing repairs at the mo as it was a s***hole but should be finished within a week and then we can have keys!! :D We went and had a look thru windows last night and it def needs some decoration!!! BUT its got a MASSIVE garden. We just can't believe how lucky we are!!!!! :D:D We haven't got to go for our meeting on Monday now - which is good as its a long way to go. The lady from the council was like - when you view it (officially and not thru the windows lol..) if it isn't suitable then ring us back. !!!!!!??? I can't believe that someone who is homeless would refuse anything?? I said "there is no way we are going to refuse it..can't be any worse than what we have now which is er NOTHING" lol...Some people are *so* bad...I would hate to work there if they get people like that! I am just eternally grateful!!!!!!! Council housing is a privilige (sp!) not a right!!!!

And I found out I won a competition I entered for a lush meal. So really the luck was in yesterday. I did Euromillions aswell last night but didn't win. Oh well....:rolleyes:

Looking at money side of things - everything is fine. Need to do revised SOA etc...but will wait until I know how much HB we are entitled to. Council have said we get some due to my disability but is then reduced due to our income so will have to see how much it is. I might aswell claim it even it is only 10 a week. It all helps afterall! I haven't included this yet in my calcs and we are still fine. HA rents are cheap as chips afterall it is half the private rent rate. Bloody brilliant as means we can put more to debt/savings!!!!

Have studying to do this weekend and MUST get it finished. Once I have done this have some work to catch up on (got a bit sidetracked yesterday lol...) Doing well with my list though...although will be adding to this now the move is imminent!

Anyway better crack on with my studying! Have a good weekend all.

Well in typical me style I have been lurking on MSE and not getting any work done. Have told myself I am not going to bed tonight until im finished even if it takes all night!!!! :eek:

However...am horrified at what some of the posts say about people in "my situation" on the housing board. Think this has scared me into logging off. Must remember not to post on there until I am debt free and have at least 15k savings...:rotfl:ha ha!!!

Not had chance to read through yet but just wanted to say chin up, don't let others ruin your happiness with the new house....everyones situation is different and you have to do what is right for you,

Thanks Karen - I don't take it to heart really - just can't believe how people can generalise that all council tenants are scummers. That is just soooo not true!!!

Done banking and scratchies..got £5 on one today :j so have been able to withdraw aswell. Thats a good start to the day.

Haven't managed to finish my studying yet either. Managed to have a really good day at it on saturday but got distracted yesterday by shopping and visiting family. Oh well. Didn't spend anything that wasn't necessary. Need to get an oven and some new sofas. Really annoying as we figured our old sofa def won't fit in. We have managed to sell it tho to a relative which is good. Saw a really nice sofa in scs sales man was really pushy - although we cant afford to actually buy till next weekend - kept saying deal ends today etc etc. Am pleased we didn't cave and buy on credit as it is on their website today with the same deal. Will go back next weekend and if it is gone then there is bound to be another one we like! Stupid man (he obviously doesn't know i am a DFW)...:rotfl:..it is a nice sofa though.

So..plan for today is just work really. Want to go out and visit a friend tonight but need to get all work sorted before I go. Am leaving study/money stuff until later on in the week as work more important.

Oh my god it's morning already...time goes so fast!

Am really busy with work atm...so need to crack on with this today and get it all sorted ready for later. :rolleyes:

Caught up with a friend last night. Was nice. It is the friend whose rents have paid off all her(and her OH) debt. Its quite funny really...they are obviously "controlled" by them now as they arent *allowed* to go on holiday this year :eek: As much as I am jealous that they are DF I would not want to be told what I can or can't spend my hard earned cash on! Its a nightmare surely????!!! Although I am VERY jealous that they don't have any debts. Me and OH came away quite shocked - our income is more than theirs and I only work 14 hrs a week :eek: Even though we have lost an income it def makes us think that we need to remember that we just earn a "normal" wage now AND there are people who earn the same/or less and don't know any different. It is all relative I suppose. I definately need to CHILL out about money and our debt. Debt isn't everything and at least it is under control now and will be gone gone gone soon hopefully!

Anyway must crack on with some work or I'll be in the poo poo :eek: Will be catching up with all things financial tomorrow.
