£250 off your fuel bills if you receive disability benefits

  • Thanks for this info,

My aunty is on disability benefit's and also pays for her energy through a pre-payment meter so will definitely enquire about this tariff for her. It is quite disgusting how these companies target the lowest and most vunerable in society with the highest prices for an essential commodity such as heat...!..

My little rant over will give them a ring sort this one out..

Is there a reason why the title says

"£250 off your fuel bills if you receive disability benefits"

From my understanding the tariffs are meant to be cheaper but little difference between them and a internet duel fuel tarrif from what I can see
  • Cool,

Excellent news. NPower are giving £200 of credit to your prepay card in January 2009 for electricity, and another £200 for gas. Good news for those with prepay meters:beer:

I don't know, but today I switched from British Gas who are no longer helping people on low incomes to NPower for my gas. I already had NPower for electric, and they were kind enough to suggest I ask British gas if they had a scheme before switching my gas to them. I've been told I will recieve a barcoded letters in the post in January, and will just need to take them to the post office where they will scan them and put the credits onto my prepay cards. NPower have also told me they will do cavity wall insultaion and loft insulation for free. I'm very pleased:beer:

I live at home with family 7 we have Swalec Gas & Electric. Bill is in Mum's name but I am on High DLA & other benifits. Can we get this? or does it have to be in my name???

Who do I ring & what should I ask for??

    Thanks

Hi JediMaster, I too am with Swalec and I receive their 20% off as I receive DLA. I do not know whether the Bill has to be in your name to receive this but you can call them and ask.

It is called energycareplus care tariff and their number is: 0800 622838 to speak to careline adviser. They are very helpful so give them a call.
