  • I went to Poplar store with my neighbour when i saw this thread, and there was only one left on the shelf and the cheeky kid i asked said it was the last when and then when i pushed him, they had more in the stockroom.

I was in the Peebles branch today and they are selling them for £70!!!!!!
Nice to Save. To save it's ____
  • Bought this fine player from Somerfield in St. Neots (£24.99)approx. 3 remaining as of yesterday.

    A few points to raise:

1, this player is cheaper than most 1GB USB 2.0 Flash Drives (search Amazon) so as well as using it for mp3 files you can use it to transfer any document (less than 1GB) so makes this player a complete bargain.
2, I have used the card reading capability in order to copy files from my GPS sat nav software (luckily on an SD card) onto my PC in case the original card ever dies.
3, A 'friend' of mine (!) uses a freeware software to rip his/her CDs into mp3 files. Not sure if this is permitted on this site but a google search of CD/MP3 rip, or "freerip" will get you the appropriate links.
4, The supplied headphones are naff, spending £5 at Richer Sounds for some Sennheiser MX300 headphones will increase your audible pleasure.
5, May be worth investing in some rechargeable AAA batteries??

st annes - bristol has plenty bought 3 today, had to ask about them though they had them hidden in the store room, was gonna play £55 quid for one of these, so it is indeed a proper bargain! :j
  • Using mine with my spare 512mb SD memory card, so now have 1.5Gbs on this little player. Excellent value for money. Also, in shuffle mode it shuffles through everything, including the SD memory card.

Dont think anyone has mentioned this yet but these come with 3 albums already preloaded. One of which i was suprised to see is Eminems new 'Curtain Call' album. The other 2 are NME which has 20 tracks (various stuff) and Jive Bunny which has 5 tracks so dont suppose you could really call it an album. An added bonus though to an already great buy.

looks like youre right deanos thanks for pointing that out. Have just tried another one and theres no files on it so that first one will be going back. I thought it was a bit dodgy as it didnt seem to turn on properly so that probably why it got returned in the first place.
  • Good post as I had been looking for one for a while. Got one in Somerfields Arbroath but the manager had to send for one. For those who can't get to a store which has them seemed a fairly easy task for the manager to get one brought in to a more local smaller store presumably on the delivery lorry as it only took about 5 hours. Can't seem to find the shuffle function though can any one help?
