    If people want financial advice then they should see a professional, not trust a TV entertainer....:rolleyes:
    You can't abrogate responsibility just like that.

    I just watched the charlatan on London Tonite. Unbelievable. She categorically stated that prices are just about to BOOM, massive pent-up demand, the usual old pony. This woman has no shame whatsoever

    ..... but people making large financial commitments such as houses etc are grown adults who should have the sense to make their decisions based on fact and not a TV show presenters wishful thinking, light weight comments. Much as I think K&P are bad presenters, I don't think they can be blamed for the housing problems.....

    K&P have an interest in housing booming, hence they predict ..... a boom!

    Don't kid yourself. They accept the cash. They accept the billing of property 'experts' and property 'gurus'. And they confidently predict what will happen next in the Economy and the Housing market in full knowledge that millions of gullible fools will believe what they say.. So they do bear a large part of the blame, no-one ever said they were solely to blame.

    I agree with "adults should make decisions based on fact", and would obviously not base my decision on such people's opinions.

    The problem comes in trusting millions of my fellow countrymen and countrywomen not to be exactly that stupid...

    After all, the advertising industry is worth billions because it can influence the purchase of all sorts of tat.

    And unfortunately, the sheeple are sufficiently legion to make a difference, after all they have made these silly mistakes at the height of the boom, who knows what bargains they will think they are snapping up at 10% or so off;

    - the lady who couldn't even afford her first mortgage payment, then blamed the banks/Govt/credit crunch/everything but her poor maths.
    - the family in trouble after proceeding with "right to buy" when neither adult worked.
    - the hen-pecked husband who despite nearly losing the previous house was talked into having £130K mortgage with a £14K salary.
    - the accountant who couldn't manage the maths on 5 BTL rents vs mortgage repayments.

    Anybody actually watching it? I felt quite sorry for the woman talking about selling at the £20k loss, she looked really gutted about it. However I would have liked to see how the discussion about renting rather than buying actually went as opposed to just having a Phil and Kirstie cliche-athon about it.

    I'm mad now. I've never been a big critic of the pair but a lot of this stuff is downright irresponsible.
