Every time I try I am getting

    ALERT
Sorry, prices for your selected date are not yet available online. Please phone our call centre for more information.

Strange; I managed to get a £28 return travelling 27 Aug (Thurs) without a hitch. What dates are you trying to book for?

If anybody else is having trouble with this offer, please post below and I'll look into it.

    Thanks

You have to check that the return date is for the same day as it defaults to the following day and you then get the error message mentioned by 'toasties'. However, I still don't think it is working as I am trying to book for next week 11th or 12th Aug and it is coming up with a price of £70 Each Way despite the code being in the box. Is there a time restriction on sailings that I have overlooked?

I have been back on the website and played around by clicking 'earlier' and 'later' and discovered that changing the outward journey time from 9am to 8:30 am, the price jumps down from £70 to £14. The earliest return journey time where it also jumps down from £70 to £14 is 22:20 pm. As my children are quite young, I really don't think that I want to travel back that late.

MSE Lawrence - can you please try and find out if this offer is really this restrictive?

I have just seen a note on the booking page in a column of bullet points on the right hand side:
If you can sail within 2 hours of your original departure time there will be no additional charge. Outside this window, there will be a charge based on the difference in fare plus an amendment fee, to a maximum of £60 each way.

I suppose that this could be one way around the problem, but they could obviously only let you sail on a different crossing time if there was space, so it would not be guaranteed.

Disney Land is purposely designed NOT to be a "one day" visit destination.
The idea is to set it up so that you feel you need more time and will come back/decide to stay overnight (preferably in a Disney hotel).

This information was in the share prospectus when the development was financed..

I'd be booking again for another day trip come next month and I am hoping that travelling as footpassenger on a Tuesday would be still reasonablely priced (must read offers sent to me when not busy)

Looks like I could take advantage of £2 deal.

their offer is for a day return trip, is there anything to stop you booking under this offer for going on one day, forgoing that return and booking another offer daytrip just to use the return a few days later, it still works out cheeper despite paying for the two day trips than booking it conventionally on a 3 day break, plus would you get the wines and meal offers twice ?

Quite often you'll find in the small print that if you don't turn up for the return journey then you will be charged the full rate which can run into hundreds. So if you were to do this twice, and only use one journey from each of the bookings, you could end up being charged the full rate twice.
  • Hi,
I tried to book a P&O Dover to Calais return crossing today, but discovered a problem with their web site. I selected my outbound crossing from the list on step 1 of their web site ( £30 ) and my return crossing on step 2 ( £35 ). All ok up to there, but on step 3 of this quotation/purchase process which gives you the total due I was presented with a price of £95 , not £65!!!
I then experimented with different dates & different crossing times, and discovered that the system ( step 3 ) that adds the two trips to give your overall price is totally random. Sometimes £30 + £35 will equal £65, or £70, or £95, and so on. At the top of page 3 you can see if either or both of your trips have increased in price (since you selected them on pages 1 & 2 approx half a second ago!), but there is no explanation or anything to highlight this price change from pages 1 & 2.....
I telephoned P&O to explain this but got no where, I was simply told £95 is the correct price. I asked how I was supposed to know which prices were true & which were false on their site? They could not answer.... Nor could they explain the random behaviour of the web site. I explained that some customers, such as the elderly may not notice this problem and would therefore be charged more than they should. No explanation was forthcoming.
Do other forum users agree that P&O are not being clear or fair in this matter?
I can not see that it is any different to me going to a restaurant, chosing a meal for £25 from the menu and then being presented with a bill for £30. Then when I query the bill to be told ''sorry sir some of our menu is out of date but £30 IS DEFINATELY THE CORRECT PRICE''.

NB: I have solved my immediate problem by booking with Norfolkline, (Dover to Dunkirk, which is only a few miles north of Calais) Norfolkline only cost me £52, not P&O's £95 !!!!!!

Have had problems with their site before, I click a time and the fare seems higher than expected, I then click later sailing, the price drops, then click earlier sailing, which is the original sailing selected and the price drops to the lower level. Not sure if this is a software problem or a deliberate attempt to raise extra fare revenue.
