When are you putting the decs up?

DD's birthday is December 20th so thy go up ready for that so probably Friday 18th this year. They stay up 'til 12th night (at the latest) and then I love how spacious and clean the house looks afterwards! But I love Christmas really!!!

Our decorations go up the first weekend in December.

It certainly brightens up my evenings when I'm on my way home from work, seeing all the houses lit up and the Christmas trees glittering in the dark.

Usually 20th Dec but this year we have no children as DD is going to spend it all with her Dad. She leaves on the 20th and returns on 30th so do not think I can be asked. The others are grown up and spending the time with their OH parents and we are going to my DD1 for Xmas Dinner.

I put them up on the last day of term, so it's all festive for the boys coming home from school. It'll be Friday 18th this year.

My daughter is 18 months now, so I can't wait to see her face when she sees everything.

nov 2002 my 1st son was born, and a week after having him i put the decs up. since then i dont do it until december. last year they went up on dec 1st as i got impatient and couldnt wait.

the year b4 it was about the 12th but a very awkward christmas as the 2nd anniversary of my mums death and my dad died on the same date as mums anniversary (very spooky), but we plodded on for the kids sake.

I used to put them up on my birthday 4th Dec. 40 this year:eek: . Anyhoo my DS1 who is 11 on 27h Nov has nicked my tradition and wants to put them up on his birthday:D Ofcourse I have to conceed cos he's the child:rotfl:

Normally the 1st of Dec but seeing as that's a Monday I've decided to put them up on the 30th Nov. Won't turn outside lights on until the Monday though. Probably won't put up as many lights this year as the price of electric has went through the roof.
