All the decs look lovely so far.

I have to be honest, i really did not think so many people put up their decs so early on.

My outside lights go up first weekend in december and my tree goes up the 2nd weekend.

Our family tradition is that the Christmas tree doesn't go up until after my Dad's birthday on the 14th of December and they come down on the 5th of January (the day before my sisters birthday which handily ties in with 12th night). Officially it's so that there is room for the birthday cards but I thnk that was just an excuse Mum used to make to keep us kids calm.
Now I no longer live at my parents and have a child of my own, I've decided to stick with the tradition.
My dilemna this year is whether to try a real tree. We normally go to my sisters for Christmas and she has a huge real tree. I've never seen the point of having one at mine if we're going to be away at hers for Christmas. She's coming up to us this year and I'd love to have one but am concerned that I may be allergic to them. I'm always a bit snuffly and wheezy at hers over Christmas, as is my son, and we are both prone to hayfever.
I'm thinking of getting a small real tree to give it a go and then if it all goes wrong I can put it outside my patio doors with exterior lights on and put a plastic one up inside.
Does anyone have any ideas as to how to minimise reaction to trees inside?
  • A few days after my OHs birthday which is on the 10th.

Oh dear, I sound like a right bah humbug but we didnt actually have any decs last year and they are looking quite scare this year lol.

We dont have room for a tree and I have bought a couple of bits of tinsel to put around the fireplace but that is it so far. I am loathe to spend too much on decorations really lol but DH did say as its our first Christmas as man and wife he'd like it if we made the effort. Which of course means that its ME who is responsible for buying the decorations, !!!!!!?! lol
  • Our Home Turned into a Grotto! Lol Took them all down January 1st... I felt less Claustraphobic! Its nice to be able to breathe again lol till later on this year... Think I'll spread the Deco's out into the Hall way in December...

Managed to get a tree for 50p from Asda and a few other bits and put them away till xmas....
