    I wouldn't cook a gammon any other way now. SC gammon is divine!

    Btw i tried the gammon in coke and I thought it was disgusting! Looked a revolting colour too.

    Plain water with a couple of bay leaves and a good grind of pepper in mine :)
  • I'm the same as Frugal I really didn't enjoy it done in coke. I like just plain ham, I wish I had went to the market yesterday and got a ham joint I really want one now!!

    Ooooh, Ive got a ham joint in, aaaand never cooked one in my sc before.....looks like today will be the day ;) buuut is it not too tender to slice? I imagine it just falling apart into lovely, but messy looking lumps?? :/

    It does go very tender no doubt about it but the last lot I did I could still slice for my sarnies :)

    I used to cook chicken in cola with ketchup added and it tasty just like bbq'd chicken, so the concept isn't new to me, just the gammon bit ;)

    nice :j might give that one a go in the summer sounds gorg :D

    Seriously try the gammon (use a small one just in case ;) ) you cannot taste coke it just gives it a lovely sweet flavour. :) and mine always stays a nice pink gammon colour too :)

    If you wrap it in foil and cool it in the fridge it'll slice much better. Enjoy!
