    Thanks Bossymoo, I've always used joints from our butcher before and slow cooked them. Freezing half of it didn't seem a problem. I don't know what made me buy the frozen ones, maybe a moment of Yuletide madness... I got carried away with the prospect of sticking them in the freezer and thinking about it later!:o
    It's only now that I've read the labels. Serves me right. I reckon I'll roast the two together and make sure that they're eaten over Christmas, shouldn't be a problem in this house!:) Thanks a lot. :)

    As long as you froze it raw you can refreeze once cooked. That's what I'm planning on doing.

  • I do one of each at the same time in the slow cooker! Check the weight prices in some supermarkets bigger isn't always cheaper! I get a medium smoked & small odd shaped non-smoked.
    Just trying the peppercorns, shallots & carrot idea off this thread.
