I did a gammon joint in the SC the other day ~ 6 hours on high with a couple of bay leaves, a few shallots that I had in the fridge & some black pepper ~ the meat was lovely & I used the stock to make soup
Ps. not sure of the size/weight of the gammon but it was £4.99 from Aldi.'A watched potato will never chit'...0 -

Ham joint done in the slow cooker is the best way to cook it.
Hassle free and whatever you cook it in - it is invariably tasy.
I usually put half an inch on cider in with mine - the smell as it cooks is fab!:heartpuls The best things in life aren't things :heartpuls

I cooked mine at Christmas in the SC with a bottle of pear cider that had been hanging around for a while, it was lovely! I cooked it overnight, then peeled off the skin, cut diamonds in the top, brushed wholegrain mustard and honey on top and baked it for long enough to make a nice crust. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm0
