Challenging bureaucracy and upholding my right to protect my information.

I am wondering about the claimants attitude all the way through this. Makes me question how the op is going to present themselves at any possible interview?? Perhaps this is someone who has been fired, given the attitude which to me suggests a chip on a shoulder about something.
I'm all for challenging bureaucracy - when it for something worthwhile - but what in heavens name is this for? Stopping people doing their jobs - and for what? If the payment is delayed I am certain we will get another - 'they are not doing their jobs properly' blah blah post on the board.
The world is full of causes, go fight a worthwhile one and do grow up......0 -
That's right anytime someone requests information or documentation from us we should just shut up and hand it over! Why shouldn't the op ask the question or see some evidence to support the statement that his claim is dependant on the documentation being photocopied? What is so unreasonable about that?Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0

For someone who didn't want a pantomine, you've sure got a lot of off topic judgemental nonsense to write.0 -
Think of the money you're wasting by being so ridiculous and now you're talking about going to appeal. All this foolishness is just wasting funds which could be better spent on people who genuinely appreciate the benefits system.
Insulting other MSEers who think you're an idiot won't make you many friends on here either.0 -
Zootet - I am not the one who posted on a public board asking for advice.....0

Fine, refuse to let them copy it.
They can refuse to pay you any money for an equally simple reason!
TBH refusing to let them copy suggests that you have something to hide, even if you don't! Also no doubt other agencies, bank workers etc have seen your balances/details, and are no less 'safe' than the people at the Benefits place!
Also you are already costing the tax payer extra money with all this non-cooperation with standard policy.
Spend your time looking for a job instead of going off on a tangent that will achieve nothing!
Sorry if this sounds unsympathetic but benefits agency staff have enough 'carp' to deal with already imho!Ermutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.

Because he's already been told.0 -
Unfortunately too many benefits staff are so far up their own backsides they seem to think they have a god given right to demand all sorts of documentation they quite often have no business demanding, they get off on the power trip of being able to cut a claimants money off on a whim. How is the claimant supposed to determine what is necessary and what isn't if they don't challenge such requests? Why is it unreasonable for the claimant to ask for evidence but not the advisor? Why is it assumed that because a request to supply information is challenged the claimant "must have something to hide" some people like to try and retain a little dignity in such situations.
Unemployed does not equate to undignified advisors should bear in mind they may be sitting across the desk themselves one day.
Before anyone asks no I am not in receipt of any benefits and not likely to ever be so either.Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0
