Just to confirm Boppy, so you dont have false hope, that I think the above poster has got her wires crossed.

IS can't reclaim the payment from your old account and replace into your new one. Yes there is a process if payment has not been received into account it has been paid into and I think this is what SuziQ is thinking about.

I didn't think they would be able to, I know if the payment has been sent to a closed account and is floating they can snatch it back. Thanks.

i never said that so thats hardly fair. why would i want a fight? or is that all you can come back with when i dont agree with what you two are saying? sometimes people just dont agree?
hang on a moment, what you two are saying?.....what exactly are we saying??

As far as I can see all I (speaking for myself) is saying is that the DWP has messed up in changing boppys bank details, that not all people on benfits are there because they want to be and have hours and hours of time on thier hands, and that you can book an appointment at the CAB.

What exactly is not to agree about any of that?

I think people love nothing more than to slate people on benefits regardless to what the original post is about, my original post was asking for advice on what to do and what a rollercoaster it has been getting some support :rotfl: Thanks Looby anyway, I am glad you and a few others understood none of this was my fault, I just hope to god it doesn't happen next week otherwise water rates, tv licence to name a few aren't going to be happy. Ohhhh maybe I should get rid of my tv  not bath, wash up or do any washing so use little water  :rotfl:

Part of the Furniture 1,000 Posts Name Dropper Combo Breaker
The system as I understand it can only recall payments in the first 48 hrs after release. If released before 2pm on a mon the payment will usually land on Thurs.
If I remember the is system correctly (its been a while as I left in sept 07 and was doing jsa then) to do a giro you went into the payment screen and added a temp change to giro for that one week (they would have also recalled the bank payment). They would need to set a system reminder to prompt someone the next day to input the new bank details otherwise it would revry back to the original bank. The prompt lists used to come out every day on reams of paper as they also included system warnings and reminders and with the staff cuts and the reorganisation towards shared work rather than the old system where we had our own "alpha split" it probably got missed and there will be no way to point out whos done it wrong. If the old bank account was shut the payment would be replaced as not rec as it eventually should come back to the system, but I think it is unlikely as they will class the payment as rec.
Sorry hun typical of the system, using technology based on the original program that came in in 1988. The number of times we had system faults or problems with the way the system was set up and had to pay manually was unreal, it really was easier when we used to do it all on paper, at least all the previous info was there (except of course when you couldn't find the file :o ).
Get over to OS for some help, hope you get sorted soon.

I honestly do not understand why with your health issues that totally rule out work and needing your husband as a full time carer you have embarked on another pregnancy. Or does pregnancy cure some illnesses?

Anyway you have plenty of money coming tomorrow to pay for the essentials, so I am sure you will manage.

Thank you for your reply, doesn't sound easy I just need to make sure it doesn't happen again next week lol! I'm a lot calmer than I was earlier, it doesn't help when I have no family here to fall back on and borrow from but we should be ok just.

. We made a baby because we wanted one,
to be fair boppy, I would have loved to have my children closer together (they are 8 years apart) and I would love to have more than 2 (I have 8 sisters and a brother so big families are natural to me) but we didn't because we couldn't afford it and now being a single parent I can't afford more (and we all know being single isn't a problem in regards to getting pregnant these days ;) ).

I wish you well with your new little one, and I hope your health improves soon.
