Excuse me, but all you have done to the OP is have a go at her and insult her money management skills. Fat lot of help you have given.Hello Boppy.
You can't manage your money.
The state pays you because you don't work. (For whatever reason)
The state provides you with a home (For whatever reason)
You can't handle the fact that you have been at fault here for not managing your money.
Then you insult the very people TRYING to help you.
Please help yourself, because I won't anymore.

Thank you Andys. Yes none of the judgemental replies are helping the situation at the moment, our finances are a lot better than they were and we are hoping that once my illness has stabilised and my husband not been my full time carer that we can tackle them.
Sometimes you can only deal with the 'now' and deal with other things later and as a lone parent myself, I know how hard it is to try and please/pay everybody all of the time = can't be done in reality I suppose.. unless that is, someone is such a position of never having to rely on credit in one way or another. Sometimes life can be just about holding your head above the blimmin water!
I hope you sort something out soon.0 -
Hi - I had a problem with bank charges, they do roll up - you start with one and although they say its £30 it isn't because the bank adds charges for letters etc etc.
But
As we are on such a limited budget - you do need to get to grips with it. The boards are crammed with advice. The best investment I made was a basic notebook and a calculator. I'm trying not to preach (honestly) I'm trying to help - you will come up against this time and time again unless you take charge.
Write down what is coming in and what has to go out - thats it. I think if you start planning you will be able to stretch it out a whole lot better. The banks are not your friends, nor do they owe you anything. Forget that - forget claiming back bank charges - and start living for today not tomorrow. Get yourself down to a local market, get some good cheap healthy veg and cook. Use the time, god knows we are all time rich on here - and take charge - no one else will do it for you.
Best wishes0 -

Thank you very much mouseymousey, I have started with the notebook and calculator thing already and it's a godsend, I also price up my food shopping online before doing it, we shop in 3 different places to make our money stretch, we eat so much veg I'm surprised my son hasn't started sprouting!0 -

Me again! Please direct me to your post where you did help me?
On my first post to you, which read :You need to be down the benefits office tommorrow asking for hardship loan, and you need to contact your energy provider to ask for help.Excuse me, but all you have done to the OP is have a go at her and insult her money management skills.
Your wrong (again). See my first post on this thread.Fat lot of help you have given.
The truth usually hurts. When you have a problem the first step is take a long good look at yourself.
There is a load of help on theses board, from reclaiming your bank charges, through to how to grow your own veg.
But you have to do this yourself. This advice centres around yourself going and doing something. It won't come to you.
Good luck Boppy, remember to help yourself a little now and again.
