I take it all the people waiting on the second email are having a random log in now and then to see if the status has changed?

Yep - go in and check every morning and evening, just in case that 2nd email is stuck somewhere - but still waiting.

  • Checking emails every day (at least 10 times :o ) but didn't think of looking for the disclaimer page on the Icesave site, so that'll give me two things to look in vain for now :D

Given the short time they have had to get things organised they have done well.
They would not have been privy to any of this "confidential" information until Icesave went pop.
The fact that Icesave used Newcastle BS IT is also a plus - it could have taken a lot longer starting from scratch!

I'll bet Newcastle BS had not planned on the extra load placed on their IT infrastructure by the repayments. Companys dont have spare capacity which can be brought on-line at a moments notice.

Then it's lucky they just happened to have a bunch of spare IT infrastructure sitting around after some bank somewhere went into liquidation...

And that made absolutely no difference.... not that I thought it would!

I received my 1st email 4th November, but still no 2nd email, I am hoping it will be soon.

Ditto, starting to get a bit twitchy...time yet for the medication.
  • Got my second last night. Too many words on the web site for claiming.

Why didn't they show a large iceberg full of dosh? They could then have had a little man in a fur coat (bearing a striking resemblance to Mr.Darling) who would smash the ice with the click of a button. Santa would then appear and stuff all the money in his sack and head off to the big bank in the sky.

And how come the web page didn't have holly and mistletoe with little elves singing? No imagination these government people.

    :p

But they do still show the words "Clear Difference" very prominently on the website. Why hasn't this been removed by now (as there have been lots of other changes to the site since Icesave went pop) given that the only Clear Difference about Icesave is going bust, having your money frozen for many weeks and not knowing just when you will get it back and also losing interest on your money during that period.
