  • OK thanks
So just badly designed then ... as it's not the payment amount at all (I hope that will be a lot higher!) but the current balance.
  • I hope Iv'e not missed the email - could it have gone into spam and been deleted.

    Hope not.

I initiiated my claim on Friday 14th so hopefully should get my money tomorrow (fingers crossed)

Ditto also initiated here on Friday 14th November but not till 12.03pm. The old Icesave cut off for days counting towards the transfer period was for them to have to get the instruction by 11am. So far as I can see nothing has changed as the whole operation is still being run by Newcastle Buildings Society using the client management account for Icesave with Barclays Bank (a member of staff at NBS on their FSCS Icesave phone line confirmed the account arrangements were the same).

But as BACS is normally two working days (that is two working days on from the day of the instruction being made but three actual working days are involved) if money was sent on Fiday it should have got here today. So I reckon not initiated till Monday getting here tomorrow (Wednesday 18th November). If not a big fuss to be made with FSCS as I will reach my bank overdraft limit within the next 3 or 4 days and I do not want to have to deinvest my one year Cash ISA bond with Nationwide 6 months early (interest penalty) and lose the ISA wrapper permanently.
  • People seem to have missed the really big news today that the Icelandic government is now to pay its £15,000 or so part of the compensation due on each Icesave account. So now none of have to feel quite as grovellingly grateful towards other UK taxpayers who have not lost money.

However this is only coming about due to the IMF loaning Iceland £2 billion and I bet we all know who will be having to give/lend the IMF at least some of the money now lent to Iceland.;)

Of course I expect our taxpayer friends in France and Germany at least will also have to come up with some of the IMF funding........:T
  • No second email yet, and it will be soon another day. I wonder if it has anything to do with receiving my first email very very late because of Talktalk junking them.

As previously reported, second email received and compensation claimed last Saturday morning. Money has arrived in my linked account early this morning ... so just two and a bit working days. Thank you FSCS.
