This is the problem, we need the FSCS to give us up to date information, if we knew what was happening such how many they are sending per day and when it might be it would be a lot less frustrating than we are finding it just waiting in hope!
still not received my second mail yet -and only one more week of November to go --at this rate I think that am not included in the "vast majority will be paid in November" that the FSCS indicated0 -

Definitely uncleared here with Natwest.
The item is only shown on the account summary screen with a blue highlight (which indicates uncleared items) and is not show in the full statement screen (this only shows cleared items).0 -

November 30th is a Saturday so FSCS probably think that the majority being paid during November means that they initiate payment by November 29th and then does not reach you until December 4th or 5th due to the time taken to clear by BACS that they will maintain (just like interest since October 7th) they are not responsible for...............................
Heaven knows when anyone with a linked bank account that has been closed or who has lost their online passwords etc may actually get their money.0 -

Apparently not according to home_alone's post above. Why is it that people always see the worst in any situation? I'm sure it's not that great sitting waiting longer and longer for the second e-mail but it's not December 4th yet and a lot of people do seem to be getting their 2nd e-mails.
Can't comment on the press information about how many and how much so far but you would hope that the FSCS have planned this out, know how many need to be sent and have scheduled the e-mails to be sent between now and December 4th. It's not rocket science is it? Personal attacks on the head of the FSCS a full 15 days before the deadline by some people are pretty unjustified simply because they haven't had their 2nd e-mail and been able to claim their money yet. Surely the time to make an issue of it is december 5th?
As far as I can see this process has been well handled by them and seems to be progressing in a pretty controlled manner. Using the hundred or so people who haven't been paid and are therefore more likely to be on this board isn't really an accurate way to assess if the majority of people will be paid out by December 4th.
And, yes I have made my claim and no, I don't work for the FSCS but putting the boot in when the process has 2 weeks to run and is going pretty well so far seems a bit over the top IMHO.0 -

Far less Instant Access account Icesave people would object to waiting for their money or be cross with how the FSCS has done things if they were being paid interest at some reasonable but not earth shattering rate for an Instant Access account like 4% or whatever. However I think if the FSCS had sent smart communications about the repayment process personally addressed to the account holder in the first class post it would have created a far more professional and reassuring image. Of course it would have cost slightly more to use the post but its not a significant cost in terms of the total FSCS compensation bill and would have left people feeling far more reassured about their competence as an organisation.
You should however realise that being an Instant Access account many people put money in it for things like building works projects or whatever and those bills are now falling due and it creates an impossible situation if people do not have an overdraft limit for the amount of the bill owed and yet have no idea when the FSCS will get their money back to them.0 -

I think you'll find you're wrong! BACS deposits clear as soon as they hit your account. Only a cheque would produce an uncleared balance
I would certainly expect any BACS payments initiated last Friday/Saturday to have hit my account by today. It only takes 2-3 days to process.“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0
