  • But are they "initiating" accounts (300K), or people (200K) with each email?

    Let's hope it's the latter.

If I don't get my email this weekend, I'm going to start getting very ratty...

And people on the house price section of this site know that's not a pretty site...
What's wrong with house prices?

Not sure if this is right thread but here goes. There is an option to leave your fixed rate bond in for the full term. Assume this will get interest as originally advertised??? Wonder who will hold the money??? Any ideas.

Yes there is. This is covered in the first email. You will have to indicate that you want to claim it via the paper/manual process. They will send the paper forms out from 5 Dec. If your bond matures after about Jan 21, then it is finacially advantageous to stay on to the end of the term. They have said that they will honour the interest rate you had. They haven't said where the capital will be held, but they are the FSCS, so it's likely to be as safe as it possibly can be. There are dozens of threads that cover this stuff - have a read around a bit ;)

Me too <sigh> another lot from Screwfix, Boots and Amazon this morning :(

Tell me about it, it is so very annoying, emails from Amazon, Screwfix, ebay etc I don't normally mind but when I see an email arrive and check to find it one of them I am muttering nasty things about them, you can no doubt imagine what!

Why don't you log into your accounts on those websites and elect not to receive their e-mail offers and newsletters?

Still no 2nd e-mail here, not at all worried, I'm sure it'll come in due course.

I can't speak for Chameleon but in my case I don't normally mind these sort of emails it's just annoying when you are expecting the 'big' one to get one from elsewhere. :)

Well, why not set-up rules instead? To dump these promotional emails out to a separate folder, then set-up a new rule for @fscs.org.uk to ensure it's moved to the in-box (rather than a spam folder), and perhaps coloured red, also add "Stop processing more rules" to this rule, in case a spam rule later on wants to grab it and move it again.

Most of them are from accounts I set up several years ago when I used just the one email address for almost everything and I've long since forgotten the log-in details.

Like nilrem, it doesn't ordinarily bother me and I simply delete the headers unread when they come in as more often than not they're duplicates of the emails I receive in my "shopping" inbox.

Then "rules" as I suggest above is the way to go.

However, if they are from legit sources you can click unsubscribe links (but obviously not for actual spam emails, as this just verifies your address), as leaving old data all with companies can at least be annoying and at worse be a security risk / ID theft risk.

It amazes me that they are claiming to be sending out 10,000 emails a day yet only a very small fraction (~0.0004%) of that amount has been reported as received on this site over the last couple of days

I find it very hard to believe this figure is in any way representative of the number of Icesave customers using this forum, especially considering it is an internet based bank!
