Great news Baldur. Did your KE Money arrive this afternoon as well?
It did indeed, literally 5 minutes ago, thanks!
  • 2nd email arrived today, simple process that seemed to go fine.

However, on the last screen that asks you to confirm your linked account, scroll right down to the bottom left of the screen and there's an option to gamble for double your money.

    I did and won - great fun!:j

Sadly, as the OP said the 50 Plus eSaver account was withdrawn the day after he opened his account - lucky guy.

I opened a 50 Plus eSaver in Nov 2007 and the interest for the first year only was fixed at 6.4%pa with interest added monthly on the daily balance. There were no restrictions on adding further deposits, or making withdrawals, and the max investment was £250,000.
After the first year Coventry advised me that the interest for the second year would be variable at 6.25%.
However, before the 6.25% rate was applied the BOE cut interest rates by 0.5% and Coventry quickly changed the variable rate down to 6.0%, which is where it is at present.
However, the latest BOE cut of 1.5% has still to be applied, so I'm sure I'll be getting another email soon telling me the variable second year rate has been cut to around 4.5%
The OP was very lucky getting in on the last day!!

I have one of these accounts opened in March 2008 at 6.4% fixed with monthly interest and have this week had to use most of it to fund part of my new Poppy Bond with Coventry plus another fixed rate .

However, I did not realise that after year 1 it became variable rate. I am probably going to put some Icesave compensation back in until March 2009 but it looks like I will have to pull out then .

Our 3rd e-mails have now been received, being one for each account and one each for the joint account.

They have arrived about 20 hrs after we processed our claims.

We also clicked on the 'Double your Claim' button at the bottom LHS for each initiation but only won once. As you no doubt guess, it was the account with the least amount of savings in, that won. Bummer, eh? No e-mail on it as yet though. It did add to the suspense but you just can't hope to win them all can you?

I think it might be to do with the timing of the click. The phone went, whilst doing that one and it must have been a good 10 to 12 minutes, before the button got hit.

By the way, it's nothing to be shy about when you win one of these, I reckon.

If other winners want to shout out, I think it might remove the stigma of embarrassment about winning, so as Delia says, "Come on! Let's be 'avin' you." :)
  • Bloody hell! I just checked my linked account and my Icesave money is there! 2nd email received and claim initiated on the 14th (Tuesday) evening so BACS payment has gone through in less than 3 days. How very marvellous. Good luck to everybody else still waiting.

Sigh I'm now starting to feel badly done to.

Still awaiting second mail. My other half had her first mail several days before me but she still hasn't received the second mail

The lack of information on the FSCS site doesn't help, a update to show how many mails have gone out and how many still to go would be good customer service

  • Good question pwerRIP.

I cannot access my emails as orange email is still down - and needless to say I cannot get through to them to find out when it will work again. It should have been running 3.00pm yesterday - c'est la vie (as they say in France)

I guess I can justl og into icesave and trying initiating transfer and see if anything happens.
