If it is any consolation to you Nilrem, I will have lost in excess of £2,000 interest.

Does anyone know how to get the ISA certificate. I am only offered the option to have a BACs transfer to my bank account.

It should/will be sent to you by post( a couple of weeks?). The theory is you then present this to the new isa provider with your application, cheque and the tax free status will be honoured.
Yes, it's transferred to your nominated account the same as other deposits.

Can anyone tell me - Is the Julian Hodge Bank an established organisation? - I know it has full FSCS cover - but then so too did all the Icelandic banks. Does anyone have any personal experience? Much thanks.

I hope so I have a 12month fixed isa and a Capital Millennium Bond with them. They've been around for a few years and, as you state are fully FSCS covered to £50000. Their CS is excellent too, so far!

I just wonder if the people who have got their cash practically straight away really understand the frustration of those of us who feel we are the forgotten ones?

Every time some posts gleefully (understandable) that they have got theirs the 'losers' feel even more depressed.
Totally agree with your point Nilrem.... it's easy to forget everyone elses situations when sat here waiting for our money to return to us. I for one will be chuffed when my small amount of money returns, but I will certainly not gloat... The amount I have 'lost' is a lot to me, but tiny in comparison to a lot of people here. It's causing me some concern, but its not stopping bills from being paid! And I do not envy you guys who will need to re-invest...

It does seem that the intial 'batches' are very small, not too sure what they're playing at, maybe they are 'testing the water', but it would have made sense to give us a bit more information in the first email about how it was gonna work... I'm trying very hard not to keep checking my emails every 10 mins, as I fear I'll be doing it until 4th Dec :(

Thanks, I am in the same position, we are 'told' we must be grateful and of course we are, if we mention lost interest we are chastised and pilloried and made to feel guilty yet no one likes losing money whatever they say in these forums.

I realise that I might have lost a lot more but if I lose my wallet with £500 in it I would not go around happily confident that I could have lost £1000.

It's not just the interest we lose over the next few weeks it's the amount we lose over the next 12 months because by the time the money is paid all the top rates will be gone.

It makes us feel worse when others announce they have got theirs.:o
  • Isn't anybody receiving second e-mails today or aren't I looking at the correct posts? I hope the system has not crashed!

Nilrem, now that you have started this other thread, I am sure you will get your second e-mail today and you will leave us anxious savers behind, socialise online with those lucky ones who transferred their money to discuss what to do next etc...

BTW, when I said aggravate each other, I meant people posting desperate threads making other calmly waiting ones anxious....

FYI, I had requested a Birmingham Midshires fixed bond application pack before they closed it and I need to get hold of my icesave money to transfer to it otherwise I will lose the BM deal...

Can we distract each other with some interesting/funny/useful links/stuff whilst waiting for second e-mail? Well, you all feel like friends now and I am sitting at home recovering from an operation and checking my e-mail every 5 mins...

Obviously not comforted by mine then.
    Oh well I tried.

I am so sorry, which post was it? it must be back on another page?

If you are 'on side' you will certainly get my thanks. :o:o
