Course I don't mind. Glad to have posted something that's helping someone else.
But tell me. Do you iron 15 items at a time like me;):rotfl:
no, didn't realise that was what it meant, but i do usually grab a small pile and just do those, on rare occassions i have been known to do the whole lot but then i turn around and it's reincarnated:rolleyes:0 -
Evening all.
How is everyone?
I think I've finally achieved the impossible....little sister, nephews and I are all curled up in the same room watching a movie, with no shouting, screaming, shrieking or violence. I think switching the main lights off and just having lamps on has made it seem very relaxing and cosy, the change from their normal behaviour is huge.
Flying has actually gone rather well today, though my plans to clean the wheelie bin and sort through the little shed were scuppered by the never-ending rain.

Monday Marvels - kitchen and dining room
hoover LR carpet (guests this evening walked in mud all over it grrr)
Awww - you're so lovelyI got the recipe from this very site - so I shall reproduce it here....
10 oz Plain Flour
2 teaspoons Baking Powder
half teaspoon Bicarb of Soda
2 teaspoons ground Ginger
1 teaspoon ground Cinnamon
half teaspoon ground Nutmeg (I don't like nutmeg so I leave this out)
Sift all of the above together in a large bowl.
Then, in a smaller bowl:
5 oz Soft Brown Sugar
1 beaten egg
180 mls Milk
90 mls Vegetable Oil
4 tablespoons Black Treacle
Stir the above together carefully, then tip the bowl of wet ingredients into the larger bowl of dry ingredients and combine thoroughly.
Gas Mark 5 / 190 degrees for 25 minutes. Makes either muffins or traybake type cake.
I put lemon icing on the top when cool – 100g of icing sugar with the grated zest of a whole lemon and as much juice as you need to make it the correct consistency (usually ½ to ¾ of the lemon).

Only Level 1 for me today - I had a totally rubbish day at w*rk and just want to give up and go to bed now...
P.S. It wasn't me wot trod da mud all over mrsgnomey's carpet. Honest. I wouldn't do that to another FlyLady! :eek:0 -
Blasted weather!
It's been chucking it down since about 5.30pm. Really chucking it down. DS has just been up the corner shop and came back and said "Mum, did you know there's a load of white coloured water coming up from the drain on the drive under your car?"
No, I didn't know that. And yes, I have the washing machine on.
Blast and double blast! Means a drain's blocked again. But, it's a different drain to that which was blocked a month or so ago.
Maybe, just maybe, it'll clear once the rain stops - but then maybe that's one of the calls I make tomorrow to my drains insurance people and have them come round and unblock it on Weds - the day DiL's Dad is coming to fit the new kitchen light...I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Thanks all
Sorry not doing much at the moment. I think the late nights have finally caught up with me and I'm exhausted. Feel very sick and rubbish
Would go to bed now but small girl is in bed, boy is watching telly and I'm about to get him to bed and big girl is out at Cubs but thankfully getting a lift home! Mr G is out singing which he hasn't been able to do for months so he's happy.
Fluttering about an inch off the ground, I may fly properly one day and soar in the clouds!

Soappie - good news on the work front. When I got back from ASDA earlier I had to paddle to the front door - surface water drain in the road was blocked and we are last house on the line so not sure if that was the problem but our gutter downpipes were bubbling up from the ground which was saturated. When the rain eased it did all soak away. Good news is oak water butt is completely full.
Anw'sMum I'm so happy A had such a good day
Vali hope tomorrow is better than today

i think this awful weather has something to do with feeling down, i feel really lethargic and even tried to persusde DD not to go swimming so i could stay in, so glad she wanted to go, she has this terrible thing about getting her face wet, on holiday she did it but got out the pool every time to dry with a towel, anyway, she was fab tonight head and face in th water loads and didn't look for a towel at all, she even went to the bottom of the pool to collect things, anyway, i'm so proud, i know we complain about the kids but they do make us proud!!
that went off track a bit but wishes to those feeling down as for the peiod pains i' m on the pill which helps the pain i was on the injections for a couple of years which stopped the periods altogether, and only mild backache once a month,
will stop rambling now!!0 -

Evening ladies
Much better day today, started well in that OH came in from work brought me a cuppa and we had the following conversation
OH - I'm feeling better today
Me - were you not feeling well then, why on earth didnt you say
OH - I didnt know until I felt better, and I'm sorry you were right we dont need expensive stuff for how often we will be using it.
Woohoo an apology and a result, so THANK YOU ladies for putting up with my rants.
As for flying, been at work today and have only come in and cooked tea and cleared that away. Kids have been excused from duty tonight as both have been doing homework although they have emptied the dishwasher between them. Will have a look at the list and do something even if its onlyempty the bin, at least that will be MACAW done for today :rotfl: .
Hopefully will catch up on all your shenanigans later
